No, Unfortunately I didn't.
Dude ! I'm looking for SE ringtones, not themes ! In beta.johnex, I could n't find any ringtone. The second website (se-uiq) is in French which I'm not familiar with. But thanks anyway for your help.

Before updating your phone, take a look to this:

I didn't find your CDA (R12A) there. I recommend not to update your phone specially if your mobile runs well and doesn’t have any serious flaw like frequent hangings, etc.

You can backup your phone using your Sony Ericcson PC Suite. You can find Back Up Manager tab in the middle of the PC Suite window.

No ! you don't

No, But there is a third-party software called XS++ which you can use to flash your SE P1i to WG1 (World Generic 1) and then get the latest firmware updates. I haven't tried it myself because my P1i is already WG1.Some of my friends have done it successfully. The decision is yours.
5-will void the warranty?coz if yes i better take it to se servise centre even if is far from me
Again, Possibly,Yes ! You can ask them though, but if you are a beginner, I recommend not to flash your mobile yourself.

If you meant backing up the cda, it's supposed to be possible with XS++. Haven't tested it, though, so I can't say for sure, or exactly how it's supposed to work.

I found the P1i ringtones in MP3 format in this forum:

It's a persian forum and you should register in it first. (Registration is free)
From the 3rd to 6th post ( the publisher's name is Sara_mk), you can see the P1i ringtones.The quality of ringtones' sound are good.
I'm looking for m4a format which is the original format I guess.

the sony er update recongise the phone so shoulb be ok
the phone is only old 4 days was sealed in the box but is good for having latest firmware but also i note is very slow & some time i press example laugage & appears music file
also i did make 20-25 min of calls with gprs,3g,wlan,light off every 30 sec(all off) & the battery dropped down to 68%
EDIT : is it normal for the battery?
from your answers i guess, i may give a try to sony er update i guess will only change the software of organiser or phone & not the cda cpz it did recodnise as o2 so possible will do on o2 software update
so if will lock it i may say to the dealer is faulty for exange or say battery drain fast
i had succsefull update t610,k700,k750i,k800i but this time i worry about this new coz is not in the glass of toy

I guess it's possible if you were connected with 3g, and the coverage wasn't very good. Sounds a bit harsh, though.

Probably doesn't hurt to try updating with the cda that's on the phone now first.. ..is the phone supposed to be on O2?

yes was low network coverage where i called but still seems i m unlucky
seems this handset drain the battery too quick
the thing i note in this version does not give me the option to turn off gprs in the internet accounts like previous version but only delete
yes is o2 well i got it from o2 (contract) & was allready set both version(preinstaled)for o2 wap,mms & wallpapers etc
lucky the handset is still unlock hehehehehe
seems little faster as well but i dont have that many expirience with the this phone
however i m playing something 4 hrs about (i charged full battery before the update earlier) & now is down to lever 80% with out call just continious using the settings again with light on & set up once again the phone as i didnt back it up so new folders all from the begin

then servise infos>sim locks
all lockeds are up

@erwin, thanks for the reference to the ringtones. However, although I do read the Arabic script (my family tongue, Sindhi, uses this script), I don't know Farsi!
Anyway, I found the ringtones as well on the Sony Ericcson India site for the P1i. You can download message alerts, themes and images here too, although I wish there was a nice .zip file with all the tones and alerts. As it stands, you have to download them one by one, and then transfer them to the phone using SE File Manager.
