It's a CMOS, read back some pages and you will see something about it.

In my opinion even if a 3.5mm jack isn't required it is indeed a good thing. You will never get stuck with those terrible stock earphones. Or with that awkward, clumsy SE connector.

About video... I agree it's a pesonal thing, but in this case it involves also a matter of money. After all, this is gonna cost a fortune. It should al least be equipped with proper flagship features.

According to the whitepaper flash options include: "Off, Auto and Red-eye reduction" (...as usual). But why oh why isn't there a force flash mode like on the N82?!?! Hope this will be remedied by a future firmware update...

From the "I'ts gonna blow it's competitors away" it sunk to "barely hangs on to other competitors". Remember, SE made it's move; Now its time for Nokia and Samsung.
BTW i just remembered a joke..
- Why didn't Pete learned to play the piano?
- ???
- Because he was born dead.
ok, it's a morbid joke, but i was LMAO!!!!!!

I will buy it for it's features, like the Flash+Java mix, and i need a new phone. So i'm gonna surprise myself with this christmas present.

I was told yesterday that it was a CCD sensor, and when you look at the photos at 100% it would appear to confirm this. There could well have been changes made during production, especially as the camera is 7.99MP so there's no reason whatsoever to have it advertised as 8.1 (false advertising and you know that another manufacturer WILL complain!). I wonder if the final models will ship as 8.0?

That said, it could just be a much better CMOS sensor. At the end of the day, it won't matter if the pictures are sharp enough and have good colour reproduction.

Some photos were blurred, but I simply BT'd the photos from the camera and only took one of them myself.

The smart contrast feature is very good, and like the BestPic feature, is something that gives the handset an edge.

Video recording is perhaps a let down, but although many Nokia S60 handsets can do VGA recording, I wouldn't say they're excellent. The shearing effect if you're moving the camera is very poor, and so you are quite limited in what you can record (i.e. keeping the camera perfectly still). I presume this is down to the speed the phone itself can compress the data, so while it's 30fps it can only cope with fairly minimal changes from one frame to another.

Still, if SE had managed to do VGA capture even at 15fps some people would have preferred to have the option at least.

VGA video could be possible thanks to mod cam drivers but when you know that XS++ still can't support the K850...
