Has anyone who's used this method and debranded to generic UK using the files in the first post been updated to the R2 firmware yet?

Looks like it can only be done if you root the phone.

Yes, if you saved the original files elsewhere and with the original files names.

I kept the original Vodafone ones. I guess others might have other versions.

I've tried this so many times now but it's just not working.

I have renamed the 2 files as per the guide but as soon as I select 'repair' or 'update' the software goes off and downloads the files again and updates my phone with the same firmware. How do I force it to use the 2 files I've renamed?!?!

Thanks!

I'm getting the same issue, i unbranded my phone before and it worked.. but now i'm trying to swtich the firmware to 014 so i can then get the 020 firmware for the x10a but it keeps downloading the firmware files over the ones i've overwritten.

i've also noticed i'm not getting the long file names any more it's only file_2345544 not file_2462468568_34q8436_56qw978_etc..

anybody know why? I tried with SEUS and PC Companion

Hi guys im looking for some help/advice please.

When i purchesed my x10 it was on fw .14, since then iv updated it to the R2BA020 telenor version. Now what my problem is that i cant seem to change the fw atall, i want to get rid of the swedish stuff on it and have a generic uk version of some sort preferably the R2BA020 or .23 or even .25 if anyone can get hold of it in the uk versions.

I have tried loads of times flashing through pc companion and seus and ota and no matter what i do i cannot change the fw.

I am following all instructions correctly but i cant change!?

Any help would be much appriciated and lollylost100 keep up the good work and all the other guys out there trying to help improve the sony x10, peace and love to ya all

EDIT; Basicly what i want to do is go back to either .16 or .14 unbranded so i can keep updating to unbranded fw but somehow it wont let me and as mentioned in posts above mine the file names have been significantly changed to much shorter versions.

If this helps im on orange and live in gloucestershire uk

Thanks to anyone who can help me
