Yowsah.. i got excited at the $704 price until i noticed it was only for the HSPA+ version. I guess i'll be waiting a bit longer for other authorized retailers to pick it up. competition will bring the price down. PC Nation is probably thinking the same thing and not wanting to put up a price until some of the bigger retailers put up one first. then they can undercut them by a few bucks.
things are heatin up!
What do you think about the chances to see it being sold by AT&T?
I'm using Prepaid T-mobile at the moment, and its reception just won't cut it for me where I live.
As far as I know AT&T, seem to be the only operator able to give 4G connection right where my house is.

I thought they were all L39H, the version I'm getting is Europe and Asia - it has more LTE bands than the US Model but doesn't have the US 700 band, I don't believe that is a problem and this version will work across the globe - there might be issues with certain carriers in the US not having the 700 band like AT&T or T Mobile - not sure

great video smclion!
@mckinley - i honestly really doubt AT&T will pick it up. If they were, they would have announced it already much like they already announced having the Note 3 available on Oct. 1st. If it does come to AT&T it will come much later, I think. My guess is if AT&T is choosing to offer a sony phone, they are already in talks for Z2 or whatever is coming at MWC next year. that's my guess, anyway.
I will wait til the end of the month and see what's available from american retailers. yesterday it was only negri, today pc connection has added it. surely, more retailers will be picking it up soon. i have a google alert set up to notify me when it happens
So, i just thought of something. I think, since the Z JUST came to T-mobile not too long ago, that agreement is essentially "cockblocking" the Z1 from coming here with everyone else.. that's my theory.

Don't forget Z1 is best phone right now.No point announcing Z2 at CES so quickly because you know it Z1 is WORLD CLASS.
Sony will announce Z2 in MWC and ship it from March 1st.[My bet]
Sony needs to give minimum 6 months for each of its flagship.
Z1=Sep+Oct+Nov+Dec+Jan+Feb
Z2=Mar+Apr+May+Jun+July+Aug

For my own personal reasons, I hope to god(though I don't believe in this supposed superior being) that the Z1 will not release with any carrier. Two specific reasons here. One, I hate carrier branding on the phone, makes it look ugly and reeks of low quality(my opinion). Two, I have an old grandfather plan with T-Mobile that grants me unlimited data for cheap, but I'm not suppose to use it with smartphones. If the Z1 gets release with any US carrier, chances are the IMEI will be in T-Mobile's database and it would bar me from using the phone with that plan. If released with T-Mobile, guaranteed I won't be able to use the Z1 with my plan.

Because SONY usually never release their mobile phone in the US as the same time as their global launch. Probably stem from the fact that the US never gets the latest phone on time or at all up until approximately 4 years ago and SONY just doesn't have a large US market share.

MNX ha.. that happened to me with X10. i had unlimited data and then when i got X10, they cut me off. sigh.
with XS now, they don't recognize it, but the unlimited data plan for cheap no longer exists

You could've gotten it back. All you had to do is just put the sim card back into the dumb phone and go back to a ATT store to complain. Though the moment you put the sim back into the X10a, you'll get cut again
.
Hence I always buy my phone outright because the money I save from my grandfather plan permits me to buy a new phone and a half every year.
