I bet the 223 is 10iv. Older phones like xa1/1+, L2 and 10/10+ were available for sales on same day they were announced.

Why pro-i has larger motherboard than other? Is it to use to "take " heat away?
I saw teardown video, it got score 3/10, for example 1iii got 6/10 and 10iii got 7/10.

My guess on sony plans: obviously 10iv , 5iv and 1iv. Also new member of Pro lineup, Ace 3 and new phone between 10iv and 5iv.

Should I expect something like 586 or 686 for 10iv?

They make it so large to spread the components thin over the phone, because the camera module is so big and taking up space. Normally the board would be made small and packed with components. On the Pro-I, because the board is so large Sony using part of them as antennas too. Big PCB can help with thermal dissipation, but its not optimal and only a tiny scale.
Repairs on the Pro-I would be a b**** because everything is on the same board, one tiny oops and you have to replace it all. Also the big board are more prone to cracking/breaking when dropped or the phone bended.

I didnt look at the next gen 10 yet but dont expect anything new beyond a better 12mp sensor or a quad bayer 48mp one. The reasons Sony go with quad all 48MP -ish sensors on next gen 1 and 5 (one of the sensors is 50mp cropped into 48, then quad bayer into 12) is they want to keep the 12mp "experiences" from earlier Xperias, I thinks.
Obviously, I could be wrong so take this with some salts

This info matches the post from weibo in november.
She said 50 that outputs 48.
Also this new one with 0.9 micron.

It is said to see sony use leftovers from BBK. 😰

I guess that pretty much confirms it. They are going quad bayer. Why? Who knows but with the rumors that Apple is goin that route too i guess Sony doesn't want to miss out. Also it gives PRO-I successor a differentiating factor. All speculation on my part.

Quad Bayer 48mp output is supposed to be used as 12Mp, it should just help dynamic range. They've done it on one of the A7 range now too.

Only A7s3 has. DR is same compared to other Alpha. All this to offer 8K? Be sure the 48MP photos are going to be bad just like all other phones at full resolution.

Another benefit of using Quad Bayer sensors is that you can now recording 8K video (if properly implemented requires at least 18MP). Maybe a world first with 8K 60fps HDR recording on all lens then jk (but I know somebody will do it anyway)
I think you can have the options to output full sensor MP pic, not just a Quad-bayer'ed resolution. Ofc with Sony track record we wont have it immediately.

The 16mm and 70mm from mark 2 and 3 do not even have 4K@60. When these cmos support.
Hard to think sony would offer 8K besides the 24mm.

My expectation : 50MP bayer 1/1.4" with A1 tech. 😍
Reality: leftovers from BBK ..😒

My expectation : 10mm, 28mm , 70-200mm 😍
What I suspect: 16mm, 24mm, 52mm, 120mm 😒

Someone on weibo left a comment to tell people to expect more expensive than mark 3.

How much does it cost to give stereo instead of mono to lower tier phone?

Sony dont have any excessive money to developing some unique sensor for Xperia and even if they have some leftover money, no way Big Chinese companies are the biggest customers of Sony Semicon, they have big influences on the company and are the one funding the development of new sensor techs which trickle down to the rest including Xperia And the cooperation between Sony Electronics and Sony Semicon is almost non existence, Sony Semi treats other Sony subsidiaries just plain customers, same tier as other companies. They dont have priority access to Sony Semicon's latest and greatest stuff unless they cough up some serious money, just like the Chinese, even in the past
Xperia only advantages now is the integration of Sony Electronics consumer tech and the design. Nothing more. If you want brute hardware, go look at the Chinese. Dont look back
