Breaking news:

Billboard ad in HK shows : Matte glass (White, black and green). Only white does not come with black power button. Zeiss T* above periscope. Also slogan " One for all lights". Weibo post suggests HK is where sales start, then Taiwan.

Looks like Xperia/Alpha to be used to showcase what sony semicon can create. Finally.
I just wish this xperia cam was also polar sense sensor also starvis. It would be so cool.

My guess: 50 mp 1.12 (1/1.4") + 50mp 0.7 (1.2.5") + 50mp 0.6 (1/2.9")

According to Cat Nya on weibo, with dual layer Sony Semi might hope this to challenge the combo 989 + 766 + 586. And if this tech is that good, with type 1.0 inside pro-i 2 there will be no rival for months until 989 gets replaced.

Big words for Xperia. Is Sony really finally going to give Xperia the full support it deserved.

Anyway, Hongkong and Taiwan are the last frontiers of Xperia. They should really prioritized those two areas.

I'm happy that I saw some people using Xperia when I last visited Taipei.

Taiwan is already #2 market for xperia.

If 1v/5v bring new tech just for 24mm instead of all (including selfie) it is gonna be failure. She also claims 1/1.3" + 1/1.7 + 1/2.6". At this point if imx557 and 563 are used again, sony will be losing huge opportunity to make good money.

My first thought was : purple in the middle and black on the right. But now I think it is black in the middle and green. Anyway, I think black buttons are very ugly unless phone is black.

Yeah you could be right. For some reason none of the greens had green fs except XZ2/XZ3

About the billboard ad. Below the slogan we see : " Next generation double low-noise sensor".

LYTIA~ And remember what Sony said:

https://www.androidauthority.[....]es-overtake-dslr-2024-3173634/

"I expect that still images will surpass the image quality of single-lens cameras within the next few years." Teruji Shimizu, President and CEO of Sony Semiconductor Solutions (SSS), has this outlook for smartphone cameras. It is said that this will be realized by combining the high-saturation signal amount technology Note 1) developed by the company with the accelerating trend toward larger apertures for smartphones ( Fig. 1 ). According to the document presented at the same time as this remark, ``Still images will exceed the image quality of single-lens cameras'' in 2024.
