as i said - i like it as it is. i'd only want it changed if i decided for some reason to change my username, but that would be an exceptional circumstance.
now if mass and tranq (and a few others besides the stalwart jojo

)decided to post here from time to time that would be appreciated....

there is a film crew for nicholas cage's new movie "ghost rider" in the carpark across the road from my office (made parking a bugger this morning, i can tell you!).
apparently they've also been filming not too far from where we are builiding our house (literally 5 minutes away).

@east: no, i haven't loaded any concept pics of the house. they are all on paper only at the moment, since they are A3 and larger to scan them would lose a lot of detail.
ok, i have a bunch of pics this post - the shots i got of the crew preparations for filming '
ghost rider' over the road from my office (apologies for quality - they were taken with my phone):
outside in the street
closeup of an open crew truck
now inside the carpark...
expect to see this motorbike in the movie
scene lighting
apparently mr. cage made an appearance later in the evening, but not so any mere mortals could see or speak to him.

@gelfen - WOWOWEE . . .

That's a nice 'teaser' for the movie - Ghost Buster mate, which stars Nick Cage! By the way, I forgot to ask you this a long time ago pal, have you met Masseur last March when he made a visit to his homeland - Mars, ooops, I mean - Australia

Thanks!

unfortunately i didn't, since he wasn't in melbourne.
ok, here are some photos i took of the block with my phone last weekend. they show the earthworks progress in preparation for the concrete slab:
facing towards the back of the block. the two closest white things sticking up are plumbing for the ensuite, with the front section being the master bedroom. you can see further towards the back there has been little excavation done.
slab outline for the meals area, prior to excavation. top is inside the house, bottom is outside (alfresco area will be to the left).
main bedroom again, this time facing more towards the front of the house, and hence the street. the bit sticking out towards the footpath will be our porch and front entry (the distance is deceptive - there's actually about 4m between the main building line and the footpath). you can see the part they haven't finished at the top.

@gelfen - Yikes

Your house's landscape 'blueprint' looks like a pre-developed cemetery mate

I am eager to see the final stages pal!

well very busy weekend. we saw the "Hithchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" movie on friday which, while it did have its moments, was generally a pale immitation of the book. unfortunately there were a fair few changes from the original, none of which really worked. if only douglas adams had survived to the film's completion things might have been different.
saturday was spent shopping, followed by dinner with an old friend (my best man) and his girlfriend. it seems they're going to have a little baby bubbalooey
sunday we went shopping again, this time for an engagement present for my cousin. then we went to the in-laws' for lunch because it was orthodox easter last weekend, and they are...well...orthodox.
we went past the block on our way home. unfortunately no photos because it was after dark, but the slab area is fully boxed up with the metal meshing and timbers ready for the concrete to be poured. things seem to be moving right along there.
