@Xugaa
Your Virgin Mobile K750 is using the Unbranded CDA, so should always be able to update to the latest UK firmware.
If people could help me fill in the following information, concerning what firmwares Branded phones update to using SEUS, I would be grateful:
K750
Unbranded UK (CDA102338/38) - R1AA008
Orange UK (CDA102338/12) - R1N035?
O2 UK (CDA102338/16) - R1N035?
Vodafone UK (CDA102338/68) - R1N035?
T-Mobile UK (?) - R1J002?
W800
Unbranded UK (CDA102338/38) - R1AA008
Orange UK (CDA102338/12) - R1N035?
O2 UK (CDA102338/16) - R1NA05?
Please check your CDA number to ensure you don't have a generic CDA before posting. Thanks!
Mike

An interesting thing happens when you run the update program ma3platform.exe from C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service.
At the moment it fails but then asks for proxy settings and when you cancel that it asks for a Username and Password to log onto EMMA III.

I belive this is caused by the volume of requests that SEUS server is currentlydealing with. (the program comunicates with the server at startup) I used SEUS2 yesterday to update my phone sucsessfully, yet when i run it now this repeating animation occurs.

Sad to say that I still get a strong hissing background noise with R1AA008, as soon as I go into the "walkman" media player ("click pshshshshshshshshshshshshsh..."), even without starting a song (though it continues to be heard during music playing).
This is the most annoying thing about the phone, and a glaring scandalous fault with something marketed as a portable music player of high quality.
If this is a general fault and not being fixed I think it will hurt the SE brand badly. I know about 20 people with the W800i, and more than half of them are very annoyed by this, I guess the rest don't use it much for playing music (we got these from the employer).
Is it just us going mad or are other people noticing this hissing noise still with the R1AA008 firmware?
noise that can be heard in media player only occurs on external speaker. through earphones you cant detect any background noise whatsoever if your audio is of decent quality.
as an avid music listener you shouldnt be playing it on external speaker.
apologise if somehow you can detect hissing with hpm-70 plugged in and starting media player. i just cant
This is with the included HPM-70 set, not external speakers.
The hiss is clearly audible no matter what is being played, and even if the music isn't playing. You hear the hissing go on/off when you enter/quit the walkman player. I also get the loud click sound between songs. The hissing is the same level no matter what the volume level is set too, and it also seems to distort the music.
It makes listening at low volumes, like when I sit alone and work, or want to listen to audiobooks in bed, a torturous experience.
It's interesting to hear that some people are not experiencing this, even with the later firmware revisions. I can say that many are affected, but perhaps it is a bad component batch that got installed in some phones but not others.
