@Shuak, yup! its expensive but my bro didn't buy that same old version of my Laptop (standard battery) but extended version of same battery (with larger capcity) more then 10 hours of using, Kool na?

So far i have recharged it twice and very pleased with its performance.
@NYB, That time when i bought my lappy it was on top of top-class models. Though seller showed me Mac-Book Second best and FS series etc etc but that time i was having childish thoery for buying thingss, so i was like "Dad its most expensive of all na? okie I will have it" *embarrass* Although its look great, sleek...light weight, best choice for mobility seekers because of long battery time, light weight, built in WAN and WIFI/Bluetooth/Camera/Bio-touch/MMCreader/MStick-duo no doubt a perfect notebook model but alas! this piece of perfection was for Professional people (business class) and Amal is student

not a business man. Sometimes i regret my decision, I miss big screens, though Lagrer screen more heavier, where as My Vaio makes me feel like i am holding a book

but still big screen, more volume and high processor.... I am telling you this becasue i don't want anybody do same mistake :/ make sure what you want high processor with Grapich cards (mine is 128mb) AKA performance or mobility n professional or a beauty(those colorful models). Next time i would definitely go for big screen and high graphichs since i have had this professional vaio experince. And mind you never ever (don't even think) about HP notebooks they are all crap (no offsence to HP users) but i have seen servals people pested by Crap HP if you remembered i had told one bad experince of my own with HP/Pavilion. Better choose in Ascer/Sony/Panasonic/Apple,if your want cheap then just Dell forget about Compaq and HP or others.

@amal: i haven't chosen a model yet but i've seen the sony vaio cr and was pleased by what i saw since it has a decent screen, a graphics card and comes in a variety of colours

oh and most importantly it'll cost around 1200-1400 $ which is what i'll be getting on my birthday

However i most probably wont be getting my laptop from pakistan. I'll be going to visit my cousin in sharjah in december and will get my lappy from there Inshallah since prices are cheaper over there. My birthday is on the 7th of October
