@marlon, max, thugs -- Great fun reading your posts
@dj_wolfinstein -- Welcome back to this thread buddy! Great travel pics as usual.
@jojo -- Agree with blackspot, use Fine. Don't care much about night mode either because it takes too long to save pics.
everything else is just

nice one chili, very sweet. Love the way you frame a picture. Who says subject should be in the middle?

@chili - YUP, 'fine' settings . . . thanks!
@dj - I like the first 2 images, nice!
I took this one, taken outside fronting the Mall . . . busy STREET ! Normal settings . . .
I went to ACE Hardware yesterday and browsed at this lawn mower I was planning to buy:
But when I saw the $$$

my GOODNESS, I just settled for one of these:
Just to level the grass in the backyard . . . Normal settings still. I am wondering how come the mower's IMAGE looks sharper than the grass-scissors, same lighting condition and they are just adjacent to each other in the section.
It's only NOW that I knew the Picture Quality settings is STILL in the NORMAL and n o t FINE

Sorry! Had it not been, the images should be better I guess

@jojo - Maybe there was a little bit more camera shake in the shot of the shears. It's enough to blur the picture when there is only indoors lighting.
@max - Some say center. But the so-called "experts" are even more ridiculous -- They cite a totally absurd "rule of thirds" (ask your dad about this). I say neither center nor thirds. There are no rules.

yeah, I know about the two thirds rule, which is better than centre, but still why be bound by any such rules, as you say.
Actually I forgot about the two-thirds rule till you mentioned it, which shows how much I pay attention to such conventionalities

Well there is the rule of composition that says the subject should be 1/3rd of the way into the frame, with any action in the shot facing into the centre of the frame.
However as Chili proves time and again, this rule can be broken with excellent results.
