"Sony Mobile's head of UX planning in Europe, Hitoshi Osawa, recently told Russian website ferra.ru that 4K OLED panels will appear in phones "very soon" and that Sony is investing in the technology: "All I can say is that we are investing money in OLED displays. And very soon you will see 4K OLED-matrices in mobile devices, which until now did not exist. The next step is 4K OLED, and you will not be disappointed," he revealed."
"Xperia XZ2 Premium has the ultimate display for a premium viewing experience with a huge spec consisting of 5.8” 4K HDR that’s 11% larger and 30% brighter than our previous 4K HDR display"
whatever display should be really bright if this is true, maybe 700-800 nits...

Well I'm seeing claims that this screen is 30% brighter than the XZ Premium, so it should do well in the outdoor visibility test I think.

what happened to 2000fps FHD/4k 1000 fps josephnero mentioned?
Well Joseph said the camera module would be capable of it, not necessarily that the XZ2 Premium would have it. If Sony are planning to use this module for the next couple of flagship phones (as they normally seem to do with a new sensor) then it very well might be capable of more than what we're seeing now.

30% brighter than XZP means about 712 nits of max brightness. Great, but my Z3 is better.

Same as above, but added a S9+ just for comparison
and lol, it would happen that we're getting rumors of an even higher end Premium/Pro due out later in the year right after this thing is revealed.

Regarding the new camera vs. the competitors, I believe the P20 Pro can go up to 102,400, but won't be able to achieve that until a future software update. I am curious though, does the P20 Pro have a chip like the Fusion ISP to merge its photos together, or does it rely on the CPU to do that? Do we know if it merges photos and video together in a similar fashion?

It could be...
XZ2P still has imx400. This is the 3rd semester this sensor is being used.
In theory a new one should arrive in september..
I just dont get it the fact bottom bezel is bigger than top bezel and not opposite like XA Ultra.

Well with a faster and better lens and better signal processing the IMX400 could be quite good! I mean, when GSM Arena did a comparison between the XZ2 and S9 they found the XZ2 took better pictures when stationary on a tripod. So the sensor itself seems quite capable. Now with the improved camera module, the secondary monochrome module and the ISP, this has some real potential for quality pics and video.
The only thing I MIGHT have liked to see added would be optical zoom capabilities, which would require a 3rd camera I suppose. The XZ2 zoom is ok, but it does have a fair bit of noise when compared to other phones with optical zoom. Going to be curious to see how this setup performs for zoom as well.
