This new pro rumor maybe true.
Right before MWC, someone mentioned brand new series debuting at IFA. I didn't think it was believable but he also said one device was going to be released later for the summer and now I see he was right. Could still be speculation but my hopes are slightly up again

Agree. Whether vdZG_'s info is true or not, it's is a fact that sony mentioned 4K OLED is "coming soon" about two month ago, and it hasn't been realized.
So this implies another 4K Xperia is coming up "soon" unless they canceled 4K OLED and replaced it with this LCD on XZ2P

As for the rest of it. All within expectations. I doubt there are any manufacturers making 4K+ 18:9 displays, so a standard 16:9 display aspect ratio is normal.
Interested by how the camera performs. Not bothered by thickness, but I have to wonder why its so nice thick, when other phone cram similar featuresets in much thinner bodies. Not even like the battery is dramatically bigger, though it is a decent size. Ergonomics are pretty baffling tbh. Its a nice smooth curvy phone that probably feels great in the hand, but then that fingerprint sensor placement. Its like the power button/volume rocker placement issues in the old Z-series. Why can't they put these things in a reasonable position?
Tbh, I'm throwing 2018 as a wash. Wait and see what they bring to the table next year. Hopefully the retract their shitty stance on headphone jacks and come back strong.

I think the XZ2 Premium will be a great phone to stand against the likes of the S9/S9+ and P20 Pro, but it is coming a bit late to the party. On the flipside when IFA rolls around and we see the new Note and iPhone, the XZ2 Premium would be facing some stiff competition then, so it would be good for Sony to have a superphone to counter those announcements.
If this is all true, then the release schedule for this year would be considered a mess. If it's due to part availability then I suppose what can ya do. It seems evident that Sony wanted the XZ2 Premium to be at MWC, but couldn't announce it. And it's not like they could scrap it either since they've probably dumped a ton of money into it, so why not release it when it's ready. At the very least they announced it before the XZ2 became available in many places so at least consumers will have an option of making an informed decision.
If they could have executed a timely release of the XZ2 Premium and whatever the hell is coming at IFA, it wouldn't have been so bad. But the Premium coming in the summer and the next superphone coming in the fall just makes it look messed up...
Oh well, unless it has a folding display I'm probably not gonna consider it anyways

Most of them dont support non-16:9 screens.
Probably it does not support 4K+.
4K is 3840 x 2160, while 4K+ would be 4320 x 2160.
Seems too much to handle by cpu/gpu.
This situation must be like previous years.
One device in early June, the other in half october for main markets and november for other areas.
In my country, Sony brought Z5 Premium in January/2016.
While Z5 was available since late november/2015.

Question 2) Something else, I used to have the app SONY INSIDER, I like the official videos.
I have vids of M5, Z5 series and X 2016 MWC phones.
I like the song of Z5 Compact promo, but never found the name. Do you guys know the name?
Question 3) Is XZ2P matte black? XZ2 looks darker to me.
Question 4 ) If I used both cam same time, will it be 19MP?

If XZ2P is truly not going to be available in the UK, then I believe the real Pro flagship will be released at the IFA. There is no way they are going to skip one of their more important markets. XZ2P feels very similar to Z3+ in terms of it's importance to the company.
Now, if we were to speculate and say that another flagship is coming, that will be 4 or 5 this year? XZ2, XZ2C, XZ2P, XZ3 and Pro? Or XZ3 is the new Pro then? Normally, Sony announce at least 2 phones at the IFA, don't think there will only be 1 this year. I really want to upgrade, but if there is even a better phone in September, then what's the point of buying XZ2P now.

Here, no 2018 Xperia is available already.
Only XA2 Ultra was confirmed so far.
Even with all them listed on Sony's website.

So, with Sony's Beijing event only a few hours away does anyone know if we can expect to see XZ2 Premium related info there? I couldn't imagine that they'd hold a major phone event like that, announce a new flagship the day before and then make no mention of it at that event.
I know I'd be getting my hopes up for units people could take out and about to test, but I'd love that!
