My friend got the Midnight Blue version after 5months, those cracks appeared, and he's waiting for a new front cover that is used in Arc S, or atleast a Reinforced version than the previous one that SE Warranty provides which also suffers from those cracks after 2-3months
and I also read somewhere in SE Support forum that they will replace it under warranty, well it will also depends on your location though, if they got the memo already.
Only Midnight Blue version of Arc suffers this cracks, until now I haven't read any Arc S users reporting crack problems.

Hey ofiaich, how you doing?
I think initially it was only midnight blue which had the cracks but my silver has now cracked, albeit in a different place.
As mhyke says, service centres will probably do the fix for you but they have about a 1 week turnaround time. I've thought about buying an OEM housing from somewhere like
cnn.cn and taking it to my local independent mobile stall and getting them to change it up, more expensive but faster and without the whole returns process hassle.
OT: I owe you a PM. I'm rubbish I know but I've just got back to the UK for Christmas so as you can imagine I've been very busy.

Hi mhyke and Ricky D!
Thanks for your replies! I am insured with Vodafone so they say they can send it away for repair but if S-E will not do, then they will give me a refurbished handset as a replacement. They also say there is a one year manfacturers warranty.
The Vodafone store also went on about whether it was a recognised fault or nor, even though I said there wre many reported cases of this on the internet!
@Ricky D! No hurries for PM replies! Plenty of time before I go to China! Hope you are having a good Christmas in the UK!

I noticed today that mine has also developed a hairline crack around the light sensor. Too small to see unless under direct light so I'm going to leave it unless it gets worse.
Bit of a pain thou!

Hi rickster2kuk
Which network are you with, or did you buy sim free?
Vodafone says if it is not a recognised S-E problem for the Arc, then they won't do much about it.

I sent mine off for repair last week. It took a week. They replaced the screen aswell. Don't know why they replaced the LCD.
You need to call them on 08705 237 237 (UK) and they will book you phone in for repair and tell you where to send the phone. I'm on contract with o2 but decided to bypass o2 and call SE directly to get it fixed.
They fixed it under warranty. The housing was a slightly different colour and the material looks different.

think there is any chance mine would be covered even though I no longer have proof of purchase/warranty?

The crack is not unique to midnight blue. My silver arc got a crack by sensor 4-5 months after I bought it. I had casing replaced under warranty by contacting SE directly a few weeks ago. Carphone Warehouse didn't want to know and were very unhelpful when I talked to them about this. They said they would charge for parts and work for something that is covered by manufacturers warranty. Last time I buy from them for sure. I hope the new casing is stronger.

Hi, has anyone else noted a slight decrease in picture quality when updating to 2.3.4?.... the pictures seem to look more washed out, its like they have less sharpness and saturation...
If you could try taking a few pictures in familiar places and comparing them to some of your previous firmware pictures would be quite useful.

I'm on T-Mobile and had the phone SIM free.
Proof of Warranty might be hard because I bought it off ebay and don't official have a sales invoice. I would imagine SE can check there database thou.
