Well.. I don't think there will be any new features. The post only talks about bug fixes, performance tweaks and other improvements. I am not sure what features this "Other Improvements" clause will include. But I seriously think that this is gonna focus mainly on bug fixes and performance tweaks and some other optimizations.

Damn, you beat me to it! Dream scenario would be if Ericsson started a mobile division again focusing on 1 or 2 super high-end models. Working closely with ST-ericsson having full control over the whole chain like samsung. A high-end Ericsson with novathor 9600 on android would be awesome

Its official now. 650 jobs to be lost at lund. Lund will now be the center for software and application development. Tokyo, Japan will be the R&D hub. Overall headcount at Sony mobile to reduce by 15% through 2012-13 till March 2014.
Mobile development process will be integrated with the wider Sony group now.
