A few first and personal impressions of my P990:
- Really bad battry performance. OK, I'm trying everything out right now, at the same time, and the battery will get better after a couple of charge cycles, but only half a day?? Dissapointed!
- The HBH-DS970 is excellent, except that you can't have the P990i in your back pocket without bad reception (OK, I'm fat, but not THAT fat). Don't know which unit to blame, though.
The user interfac could really be made better for no flip operation and I'm missing easy access to many of the usual smart SE functions. The functions are there, and often with many new options, but harder to find and operate (just an example, the automatic option to downsample a picture after its taken when you want to MMS' it. Now you have to change image quality first or go via the image editor, etc, and 8 menues later the memory runs out... To some extent this will get better when I get used to the phone more and find out how you really should work the phone (I'm used to the K750i)
- Was expecting more WiFi functions ...
- Finally, its quite slow.
But I'm loving it!! I actually was prepared for even more problems and I'm confident that most of the issues above will be sorted out (at least partially) in later firmwares and with the addition of third party software.
How about you other lucky guys who have a P990, what are your first impressions?

I too just got an expansys. I pre-ordered from there at the start of august. Do you think that was too late to get one from the first batch?

Depends really, have you got the confirmation call from them asking if you want to continue with the order??. If not then its highly likely that you probably missed out on the first batch.

I've got a pre-order with mobile-gadgets so they might come through soon. not sure if they are getting in Qwertz keyboard layout ones initially though.

Very soon after the first batch going by past expansys experiences.
Edit: Just read the post above me, looks like they are getting plenty of stock in.
