@All don't forget there will be another American announcement from SE regarding the Xperia at the beginning of November. My guess is that it will be the X1a.

They are showing that item as not in stock same as Moby Memory who are expecting there first shipment on the 23rd September. But they are coming soon that's for sure also there pricing seems to be reasonable for this new size card. Personally I'm not desperate for it but my next card will be a 16GB or maybe even the 32GB card as more space is always useful IMO.

Hi Marc,
They told me at the beginning of the month they were in stock! but could well have sold out.

I would love to know what capacity Micro SD are claiming the X1 will genuinely support, they told everyone the P990 would support up to 8 Gig M2.
BUT "My Memory" stopped advertising the 8Gb M2 cards as being suitable for the P990 after having so many returned (Mine Included) as so many P990's simply would not recognize them mine was generic FW and it still would not accept bigger than 4Gig.

I highly doubt you will have any issues with the X1 and memory. This phone is built by HTC, their phones in nearly all cases I can think of have a good history of support for new memory sizes (providing the basic architecture doesn't change, for eg. SD to SDHC).

Apart from the P990 memory problems you mention, I've not otherwise heard that P990 has a problem with 4GB plus? I know for a fact that my K750 can use 4GB (it was advertised as 1GB when released), my K800 laps up 8GB, and I fully expect my W910 will take the 16 and 32GB when they come out.

I wouldn't even bother worrying about whether X1 will support 16GB and 32GB; I think you can take it for granted. There are other more serious concerns that we will be keeping our eye's on as X1 get's rolled out.

X1 should support 8GB and 16GB cards...

P.S. The memory question with P990, I have seen people that have 4GB memory sticks in their P990 and the phone is doing well.

Sry but you forget the some things made...
media panel (audio player, video player, radio, image viewer, etc)
camera ui (touch ui with touch focus)
some ui face lifts (call screen, etc)

Your right my error, well my P990 would not take Sony Duo Pro cards higher than 4Gb and My Memory stopped specifying 8gb Sony Duo Pro cards as they had so many returned!

Sorry if this has been asked in the previous 252 pages but I couldn't see it.

Anyway I was wondering if the X1 has a 'back button'?

Have a P1 and the back button on the side is great. Been using an OMINA with no back button and found this a pain when navigating the device.

Looks like the Touch HD has a back button next to End Call on the front, I know this is not high on anyone's list but I think it makes using a smartphone much easier.

Cheers JD
