I think it is true sami :
But there is a good explanation for it (see top comment on Xperiablog)

Well the one think that you don't understand is that this is NOT a simple screen protector, Sony refers to it as "shatter proof sheet" over the mineral glass, this means that this is not a screen protector you are supposed to peel off if it gets scratched, you have to apply the screen protector that comes in the box (all Xperia's since X10 have one inside the box). Well.. this shatter proof sheet protects the glass from falls and scratches, in case you drop your phone the screen simply won't break, it's not impossible but it will be difficult to break with it applied on the glass as it absorbs the vibrations.

^ that logic of the top comment is flawed considering the "shatter proof sheet" is the screen protector. First, I did not receive a separate screen protector in addition to what was already applied in the factory (the shatter proof sheet) when I got my X10. Second, even when removing the shatter proof sheet from my X10 to apply my 3rd party screen protector, the "SONY ERICSSON" logo was on the glass, not the sheet. Therefore, it's logical to conclude that not printing the logo on the glass itself was a temporary measure for pre-production units as it was faster/easier than printing on the glass itself or Sony is simply trying to save money by printing on the sheet and not the glass.

If the latter is true, then i'm disappointed for such a premium device.

I hope It just for the preproduction unit or a prototype.....
I don't want my z to lose the Sony logo just because of the protector sheet (

i really hope that os not true!

Anyway, I hope Sony releases another phone this year with similar features and thickness as Xperia Z but with the same width and length as Xperia ZL.

Maybe Sony wants tos save time and money in printing different carrier branding. Just like printing Doccomo in place of Sony.

I was wondering how it closed... it doesn't look like it'd fold in half perfectly when it's in normal keyboard mode, but it does.

Definately a contender to replace my Tablet S
