@bodum
Can you get change the product code and flash it with unbranded firmware as i am sure that would resolve the issues you are having. Unfortunately it is well known that 3 really mess their devices up.
On a side note i am back to just using my E61 and absolutely loving it just waiting for it's true successor to come out. This is easily the best all round smart phone i have owned and used. Just today compared it to a Z8 for Video playback and the E61 owned it big time the Z8 wasn't even close and that's meant t be a Multimedia device what a piece of garbage it is.

Would the E61 have the same changes? I think the most forgotten E-series is the E-70.....

i would, but then the cost of losing my warranty is a bit unjustified? i only got it on '3' cos' they have the black one. plus i don't really want to switch to generic as yet as i do sometimes use '3' services when i'm in australia. maybe i'd get a generic e65 for my other sim, or even the e61, which is looking more tempting by the moment.

i really started to make thoughts to get an e70, when i can get it for a good price, but i still have my doubts if i would love or hate the folding keypad...

The E65 has me intrigued; Vodafone dot co dot nz has it on special for NZ$649 (down from NZ$999 RRP). I think that makes it the cheapest Wifi compatible phone officially available in NZ and stylie too, thus I've been looking at it closely as I expect the W960 price (when released) to stay at NZ$900+ for a long time.
I checked out a demo (fake) E65 in a shop and have to say I found the D-pad, surrounding buttons and keypad hideous! I have large fingers and use my thumbnail for key presses. What do you current users think of the buttons and of the UI?
ps: I'm an S60 virgin

it's a fairly good phone, if you're prepared to put up with some 'specific' issues which nokia has so far never resolved with a firmware update.
having used the phone for some time, i find the d-pad and keypad to be average at most. i don't have large fingers, but that doesn't stop me from double pressing most buttons at times. i'd say the error rate at presses to be around 20%.
