''The C905 is a fine looking slider phone, with a similar feel and UI to the K850i but with a whopping 8MP to play with alongside the usual range of camera controls now including face detection. The Karl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash nestles under a slinky brushed metal cover to give it a classy feel.''

Yeah its a spelling mistake, but thats the first I've ever heard of the C905 having a Carl Zeiss lens. I would say its wrong, but you'll have to get someone else to confirm that.

Seems to me something like that would be mentioned in the publicity blurb if it was true. Lets wait and see though.

To Confirm, unfortunately, Sony Ericsson 'Cyber-shot' handsets do not use Zeiss Optics, although - nor do Nokia - the Nokia 'Zeiss Optics' are just cheap lenses made by Nokia Corp. to an 'acceptable' level that can be certified by Carl Zeiss AG.
Sony Ericsson handsets tend to use Sony's own optics and lenses - these are produced by Sony, and use the know how from Minolta - look at Sony's DSLR lenses that ship with the Alpha Range - they are rebranded Minolta Glass.
All this talk of 'Cyber-shot' handsets using Zeiss Optics is just an assumption by ill informed Journalists/Reviewers - who are Mobile Phone reviewers, NOT Camera/Optic Experts. I even recall when the K800i was first launched at CPW - they had the 'Zeiss' logo advertised with it.
Its because Sony's 'Cyber-shot' handsets all incorporate Vario Tessar lenses, so it's a natural assumption by all, that Sony Ericsson 'Cyber-shot' lenses are also Zeiss.
Rest assured they aren't.
Which is why my concept for Shiho reintroduced Minolta's 'MC ROKKOR' lenses - as Sony Corp. own Minolta, so using the Minolta name on a market segment they are obviously serious about would make sense.

@Vegetaleb
Haha, Nikon - personally not a Nikon fan - at all.
It always was Minolta V Nikon, and since Sony bought Minolta - its been Sony in place of Nikon.
I visited Minolta's factory in Osaka, and its something else - they are still using Minolta equipment, the building is still branded Minolta lol - but producing Sony lenses now - which are manufactured to the same high level as Minolta's lenses were.
The only reason one see's Nikon come out on top against Canon and Sony, even Pentax - is because Nikon has a reputation that nobody dare soil - having a 'Sony beat a Nikon' - well its Fifth gear all over again...
...When the BMW 135i beat a Porsche Cayman at its own game...
What is the world coming to, Sony beating Nikon, BMW beating Porsche - next we are going to hear that Chelsea FC lost to Barnsley...
...Wait, that already happened too lol.
