Hi carolchew, i had the same issue.
im using an unbranded black satio and the themes still werent working. To get round this issue i performed a soft reset of the phone after which they now work.
A soft reset doesnt remove ur personal data (contacts etc) like a hard reset, but to be safe i did a backup with the filemanager on the phone first.
To do a soft reset open the dial pad and enter:
*#7780#
it will say the phone will be reset and needs to restart and then itll ask for the lock code. The default code is 0000.
Once the phone has restarted (takes a little while and ull probably see it navigate its own menus, i did) then restore your backup all except for settings.
Your standby themes should now work.
My issues are with wifi, however, after the reset i did i can hold a connection to a netgear router on channel 6 with WPA2 with the routers wireless isolation option on, provided i only establish the wifi connection with the wizzard/scanner. If i just run an app that needs wifi and it establishes the connection im often left with "no gateway response" message until i restart my router despite my ipod, pc and Wii continuing to function ok.
I also noted that whenever the satio connects to the router there are two wireless devices registering on the routers wireless clients list. The first is all normal, the second is shown as having no MAC address. Both are from the satio. Surely thats impossible?
Any body else have this issue/quirky behaviour? Like i said since the soft reset if i manually connect and disconnect the wifi its fine. The good news is my satio is faster and i have no signs of the other issues people are having (the update fixed all my other issues)
I mite try a hard reset tomorrow, but will back up all data to the pc first to see of that resolves the minor wifi issue i still have.
To do a hard reset enter *#7370# instead. Backup first mind as it will wipe all data from the phone.
Regards,
John

Unlike the previous times that I flashed the Satio, this update did not reset the phone. Everything was exactly the way it were before the update.
But it's a good thing that I I backed up before the update though as (Like Morris said) stupid Roadsync wiped out all my contacts.

I do have backups on the SIM, on the memory card, on my PC and on the SE web service, so this isn't a big deal.
The first thing I noticed was that the touch response is a lot better! IMO, the satio was already pretty responsive for a resistive phone, but this update has made it much snappier. You notice this well when you use the soft QWERTY. Typing feels a LOT better to me. Also, the trigger happy accelerometer has calmed down a bit.
Also, like the other said; the battery life has been PHENOMENAL! It's been 24 hours since I flashed and only 2 bars have gone down. My exchange push is inactive on saturdays and sundays, but i did use HSDPA quite a bit. The true battery life can be measured only on monday.
Picasaweb does seem to have been borked. I logged in just fine, but no upload seems to be happening.
The menus are a lot faster now. Like Morris said, it now definitely feels like a 600MHz phone.
Standby themes still don't work without a restart, but I don't care as I only use the SE one. Handyshell works fine, btw.
I'll update as soon as I explore it more.

hi people,
I got a weird thing that happened ever since I upgraded the firmware. Everything seems to be fine except for the photos.
For some reason I can't seem to edit any of my photos taken vertically using my camera. I tried the old photos as well and it freezes up the entire OS once I try to edit it under media. It only applies to photos taken vertically using the camera. It works fine if the photo is captured horizontally ( able to edit it ).
Is anybody else having this issue ? This only happened ever since I upgraded the firmware.
Thanks

If Roadsync can use Gmail. Does this also mean that Roadsync can use any IMAP push service?
That would be great, cause the default mail app can't use push.
I use Profimail for that, but would prefer a good, better integrated, mail solution.
