-2, -1.7, -1.0, -0.7, -0.3, 0.0, 0.3, 0.7, 1.0, 1.7 are all Zoom, with 2.0 = manual focus
What do you get at these EV positions?

you must set it on camera mode and switch it to video mode
worked for me

 This trick works, by selecting settings then going to video mode the settings remain the same except for manual focus 

 But I would still like to change settings in video mode whilst recording, to have old settings back

Framerate is a bit above 12FPS. VGA is good only if the camera is moving slow, otherwise video wobbles (jelly effect) and quality becomes worse.

That's great Raider but if you can't make higher framerate you need to have an option on the phone to turn VGA on and off.
