No, SE doesn't ship phones rooted, none of the phone manufacturers for that matter

incredible , that would be PHP 17k in my country. my old k800i cost about that much when i bought it years ago, you can really see how fast mobile tech is progressing.

No sure word on when the Neo & other SE Android phones will be available in the retail shops here unfortunately.

Here in Baguio Xplay cost 22k($511), while Arc cost 26k($604), it's kinda weird the prices have interchanged, earthquake in Japan have an heavy effect on Arc Cost while Xplay's price already depreciated

Neo was also my 1st choice, but until now, there's no sign of NEO in SE shop/Mobile Shop yet, and i think when it comes out the price will be slightly higher than Xplay

and right now i am considering Xperia Arc, because of availability, and Xperia Ray if i am going to wait more

My Xperia Neo is a China/HK version. I switch it to English and the keyboard is in english(US) but it also have a chinese keyboard that I can't seem to turn off. More ever, I can't seem to use the Japanese keyboard that I already set (keyboard settings).
On the keyboard, the "EN" button will only switch to between that and "CN", but no Japanese (hiragana). How can I fix it. I'm also interested in getting rid of the chinese keyboard.

Also, since it's a CHN/HK version, how does it affect the usual update for kits? i.e. how long for the kit compared to Europe and USA?

Same here, the Ray is more to my liking being smaller than the Arc (which is why I was considering the Neo). Nice Baguio price for the Play, unfortunately it's more expensive here in Manila (~26k).

You'd think that a country with ~100M people, an expanding economy & a credit rating upgraded 2-3x in the past 2 years by the credit rating agencies would be high on SE's priorty list but noooooooo. It's why Samsung is making such inroads here, they know the potentials of the market and move accordingly.

Skype 2.0 brings two-way video calling to Xperia Neo/Pro

The Skype team has updated its Skype ™ to Android application in the Android Market ™ to support video call to a limited number of phones, including the new Sony Ericsson smartphones, the Sony Ericsson Xperia ™ Neo ™ and the upcoming Sony EricssonXperia pro.

The application allows users to make Skype all the great things users are used to Skype to Android ™ and now adds the ability to free video conferencing that lets you make free video calls between phones supported Android ™, IOS devices, PC, Mac and even some TV on WiFi or 3G. Video call can consume a large amount of data so when using 3G you must ensure that an appropriate data plan, to avoid any surprises at the end of the month.
