Revenue of mobile and cam business are basically same according to the financial data. If Electronics can afford the extremely almighty fancy obscenely priced imx610, should have no problem to pay maybe $50-70 exmor for xperia.
Kill the 10 series and save R&D. I doubt it sells any near 1 series anyway.
I bet 220, 300 and 400 were easily the most expensive ones from their time.
1ii and 1iii are advertised as pocket A9. Even have same 20fps 60 AE/AF.
So, if A9 iii comes with 60fps + 120 AE/AF as gossips say, then 1iv needs to do same.
People are paying $2000 on pro-i. Other would not mind paying maybe $1450-1500 on 1iv if sony slaps something more expensive than the original plan inside.
The one I asked about couple weeks ago is enough. 🙏🏻

First time I heard of it, person says something like high pressure on the components and they would be concerned about durability. Translation of chinese is kinda confusing . If they do it, it is failure, because I suppose Oppo gonna bring their 80-200mm this year or next.
Does not matter the tricks, digital zoom is not same thing. Digital zoom cuts the photo, upscales back to original resolution and adds sharpening. Reason it looks crap.
Also, time to make 10 and 5 with 6,3" and 1 with 6,7".

Your comparison is bad. Selling a camera body with a single sensor or two with a margins of thousands of $ is one thing, selling a phone with multiple sensors for peanuts (few hundred $, sometime even less barely cover the costs) is another thing. With the camera because the margins is so high, you can invest in a flagship sensor and still making profit, because you only need to sell a few thousand of them to recoup the cost. With a phone, that scale shifts to hundred of thousand of phones. Either way, your expectation are unrealistic.
Not to mention with a camera body you are forced to invest in lens system, accessories,....making you even more profit and incentive to invest into R&D. With a phone, you can sell some official cases and chargers maybe,...eh. Other company have their own ecosystem as an advantage, not so much with Sony. They had a great ecosystem but unfortunately axed because cost-cutting.

Do you know why samsung uses exmor for snapdragon variant? Do you know exactly price difference between 766 and GN5 for example?

Multiple reasons I can think, cheaper because in-house, optimized ISP for ISOCELL (but Exynos still can use any sensors not just ISOCELL) and to avoid "silicon lottery" which affects sale and reputation....
Sensor is not the whole picture. optics quality also matters. Previously both Vivo and Sony introduced high quality lens made from hybrid glass-plastic (with helps from ZEISS). Then on Pro-I they use true glass, however with glass that introduce a whole lot advantages and disadvantages compared to plastics....

Except those galaxy ultra, Samsung every year uses exmor + snapdragon and exynos + isocell. I wonder why not using only isocell for all devices.
The advertisement of pro-i is very confusing. I still do not understand if the 24mm has all elements of glass or just the first.

What are the disadvantages of using glass?

I suppose: thicker, heavier and more expensive.
I do not know if they can suffer more with reflections inside.
What do you about about the new Qualcomm-Sony lab in San Diego? Would that be Qualcomm helping sony with next generation bionz?
