Hi guys, I would like to share this reply from se wherein i inquired when will they upload the r2aa fw on the site.

Subject: Online Update
Good day,
I would like to know when will the new R2AA003 firmware for the
k700i be released on your online update service. It has been released
in some countries but only available in limited number of service
centers.
The new fw has been confirmed to contain an updated phonebook
search option (about time se fixes this issue since every phone has this
even the old ones) and other improvements.
Hoping for your immediate response on this matter. More power

With regards to your enquiry,

With regard to using the Update service for the k700i, you will need
the following:-

Sync Station DSS-20 or DSS-25 is a requirement to perform an upgrade.
-PC with at least a Pentium 133 with 32 MB RAM - a Pentium II 233 with
at least 64MB RAM is recommended
-The operating system is one of the following: Windows 98SE, ME, 2000
(SP3 required) or XP (SP1 required)
-The device has to be fully charged

Just updated this evening, phone still says R2L001, but file downloaded into C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\software-data was:

HL1_125821RED29_000000_0003_R2M

Must be a slightly newer version of R2L

PS the update service app is now version 1.31
