I can imagine you, and many of us, eating those comments, say in, 4 or 5 years time. There was even a time when colour screen were considered useless, and even camera phones when people like us were complaining about screen clarity and picture quality. How times have changed.
Although it does stand that I don't want or need a GPS, dedicated or part of a mobile phone.

No-one ever said that the Sofia would have optical zoom
I never did, and I think it's unreasonable to expect it from a phone that's 17mm thick. Cameras which are that thin with optical zoom generally use mirrors etc.

UPDATE:
An announcement on the 15th April.
An announcement within 5 days! Probably Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. I'd put my money on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

I don't think people should get too worked up about Sofia as it won't be a smartphone and if anything, it sounds like an upgraded k800i. Plus there have been hints of more than one 5MP device in the pipeline but whether this means and EDGE version of Sofia we just don't know.

I actually like the "educated" guesses. It shows what other people likes in a phone and ways to think about electronics that I'm not always think about.

Oh, I like the GPS, have an quest mounted on my MC, and different UIQ3 apps on my smart phones, and GPRS based ones on the non-smart phones I have.
Can only recommend to use an SiRF/III chipset in the bluetooth adapter of your choice . It's a lot better to spend those extra cash on one of those instead of buying a cheap one and cast curses over it
