@jojo - Thanks mate. By using a couple of tools in my photo software I was able to select the bit I wanted to keep coloured and then change the rest to black and white.

@jojo, I'm using microsoft picture it standard photo 9 mate. All I have done is carefully selected around my daughter, then selected an inverted function to enable me to edit everything other than my selected area (in this case my daughter) and then taken the rest of the picture out of focus.

This technique is the same used as the pan shot of my lounge

@chili, nice pic buddy

@blackspot, nice pics buddy and thanks

@duo_m, thanks mate What type of camera are you using ? If it's a vga then NOISEWARE is a handy piece of software to have and can help clean up your pictures, have a play with the settings as you will find that each will give you different results. This is the one that you want and it's free

Noiseware Community Edition
v 2.5 (build 2501)
Free Download for Windows XP (1.3MB)
Free Download for Windows 98SE/Me/2000 (2.3MB)

As for tips, and ideas, just looking at this thread should get your creative juices flowing mate, and depending on what software you have on your pc will also depend on what sort of manipulation you do. Do you have any photo software, and what is it ?

Here's one before

After
