According to The Phone House in Sweden, they are getting such quantaties of P990 from SE that not even the accumulated pre-orders since november last year will pose any problem. TPH alone have pre-orders well beyond 1000 units...

Its been released. In Sweden

From a Swedish site today:

The first mobile phones have been shipped to customers, but already now there are bugs. The web browser, Norwegian Opera 8, cannot be opened in a number of the phones.

Also the unit that di.se tested have problems with the web browser.

SonyEricsson Customer Service knows about the problem, and customers having the problem are asked to return the phone for servicing.

di.se has tried to get in contact with Production Manager Per Alksten without luck

-----------------------------

isn't it 64 mb memory ?

just 15 ???

the OS can't be using 49-50 mb memory that's ridiculous

is it really 64mb ram? the memory stick that came with the phone is 64mb. plus that the free space in the phones memory (not ram) is about 25-30mb before starting to save things on it.

@joel80

if the P990 is like the M600 SE will have included a lot of apps and content in the user memory which not eveyone needs.

Because of some problem with the p990i until now, maybe october is the good time to buy the phone on what the output shows. I hope SE can fixed the problem especially the memory of the phone while working.. Does the m600i have the same problem while using it and the memory goes low???

The phone is released IMHO...

The situation with Opera is mainly due to opera itself, from what i understand...the code wasnt truly optimized for UIQ 3, it was just a port

edit: I see the "coming soon" tag returned to SE uk site, but not to others: Sweden, Portugal, etc

edit 2:

looks like mobile-gadgets is gonna get some swedish p990´s to send to their costumer while they don´t have more stock...

Please keep apart the memory that are used to store things on the phone and the RAM.

The problem isn't that SE has filled it up with programs and stuff. The problem is the memory the phone use when it runs programs and it's OS.

Storage is no problem since you can buy up to a 8GB memory-stick and put in.
