now that I've had a good play with the TyTN, and since I have some experience of UIQ3 on the M600, I could easily forget the P990
unfortunately my curiosity and desire to check out what SE have done in the P990 is strong and irresistable!

I hope SE will fixed this problem before october or else we have to wait for the next model phone. It took so long for this phone and still it has a problem. Its ok if the problems are just minor but its major because its about the performance of the phone.

No.. no programs are running when you start.. only the Symbian OS.
Of cause it's hard to tell if something is running as invisible... I meen, something that yoy don't see in the task manager.

You can save RAM through removing some of the applications. Like the Computer, you used RAM when using different kinds of program. When you start your computer, there are some applications that already running that used some RAM. That is what i'm talking about joel not the memory of the phone. What i ask the p990i user is when you open the phone, are there programs already running that used more RAM? Check it on the task manager..

@Joel: Try removing the demo of the phone from tools -> controlpanel -> other -> uninstall
Just removing this made the phone have 15.1 mb at start up. I am thinking of removing the golf game, as it is 4.7mb, that will probably give a lot of memory
