One question I was not able to find a100% answer to... is the screen "soft" like that of the P1i or hard like the iphones? I know not really relevant, but I own P1i and an ipod touch and to be honest for some reason i prefer the ipods "hard" screen! With the P1i (also great screen) but i am always a little conscious of damaging it when using....

Thanx for any answers

I don't think you should worry about that issue. People are not going to buy this phone to take photos and make videos. If you are looking for that then you have to get a N95 or a INNOV8

That's not true, sorry - none of them have "hard" screens like that on the Ipod Touch the previous poster was referring to. That's a touch capacitance screen, which no WM device has supported to date, and you can be absolutely sure we'd have heard if the X1 was about to change that.

The X1 will have a "soft" screen, similar to the P1 and the majority of traditional touchscreen phones. if you want a screen like the ipod touch on a smartphone, it has to be the iphone.

So when do we think retail/production models will be available to reviewers then?!

surely it must be soon if the phone ships in a couple weeks...

As usually the marketing spin makes the demo a little un-informative. Just the same old spin we've already heard. I thought it was particularly funny when he called the screen "YVGA"

He probably said "Wide VGA"; you are probably not hearing the 'd'.
