@Dr Sommer. When you have a branded phone, then the fw for the provider specific phone is different than the fw for an unlocked phone. Provider specific fw is always behind in updates and you cannot update a branded phone to unlocked phone fw.

I've noticed something strange. I'm not sure if I had this problem before I upgraded the firmware. When using WLAN, the amount of data sent and received is not logged in "connection manager". That is, it starts registering traffic, but then it stops usually after a few Kb. Connection time and status (inactive/active) is displayed correctly. Data traffic through GPRS/3G is logged correctly as far I can see.

Can anyone else confirm this?

i confirm.. My WLAN doesnt work at all.. it connects, the log gives 1.7kb or something similar for ul/dl... it says active/inactive.. web doesn't open anything, keeps saying Cannot locate remote server etc.....

that only happens to me when the configuration of the network is faulty. check settings for dhcp for example. my wlan works exelent.
the latest days I have stayed connected through wifi at several open hotspots in amsterdam and at my hotels free wifi with wep-cryptation. I'm so pleased! only thing I miss is a way to send email. but then I need the outgoing mailserver of the isp.

To clarirfy: WLAN is working perfectly, if set up correctly. Thats not my problem anyway... I'm talking about the log in connection manager not logging traffic correctly (amount of kb in/out). This is not a big problem, just annoying.

Joel80: Could you check if traffic over WLAN is logged correctly in connection manager? BTW, I recommend you sign up for Gmail... works perfectly with P990, both sending/receiving email.

Ok.. that problem is still present. Hasn't worked in any firmware. When using gprs it works exelent..

edit: Regarding g-mail, then you don't use POP3 do you? When using a POP3-account you often need to have the ISP's outgoing mailserver.

Gmail uses POP3 for incoming and SMTP for outgoing mail. You can set up full access through "messaging" on the phone. Alternatively you can use Gmail via the browser at http://m.gmail.com.

Send me a PM with your email address if you want an invite for a Gmail account.
