I brought my p800 out of the country for the first time-
...some observations...
- flight mode works fine, but it's a hassle to explain to the flight attendants what flight mode is about- they think you're texting/using your phone.
- my internet wouldn't connect! I never got online- some "unknown error" Then it worked fine the moment I was back in Manila. Attention:GLOBE people, what was that all about?
- p800 costs 4,480 HongKong dollars at Fortress. hmmm...

@foxtrot - Globe only has GPRS roaming agreements with Singtel and Optus. You have to choose this carrier if you're at SG or AUS to be able to access via GPRS.

so who is Globe's partner in Hongkong? the locals there do not like Orange because it is the most expensive. and I see them switching sim cards too when they cross the border to Zhuhai.
Really, this problem getting connected was the only irritant in an otherwise lovely vacation.
... almost made me want to buy the OS xda, displayed right beside the p800, and only $HK 4880 (just 400 more expensive.)
But I didn't...buti na lang. Why should I change this phone I love for the xda?

@fox - Be sure to have your intl roaming activated by Globe prior to departure. When alrdy abroad, go to manual network selection and choose whichever network you like. Change to the country's prepaid sim maybe much more advisable than intl roaming bcoz of the expensive charges. Pa divert mo na lang no mo sa prepaid kaso wawa yung caller

Sorry mods, off-topic

yes,i am on international roaming. and on my trip i was making calls and sending texts as usual. it was just the Internet feature that was out of order. actually,i would connect for about 10 seconds, then it would close down, and a message \"Unknown error\" would appear. @vyn300d, most of my apps are free... the only ones that I bought were:

-Mobipocket Reader Pro (but the standard version is free)
-Oxford Dictionary/Thesaurus set
-Interstellar Flames

Am having a small problem with my phone. I use it with the flip removed and there are times when it goes on standy, a couple of taps on the screen where the virtual keypad is won't bring it back to normal. I have to use the jog dial. Any ideas? Does it need calibration?

@chris725...I guess you can try to calibrate it but I suggest you have it upgraded if its still the old version. This message was posted from a P800
