i´ll wait for SE first android devices to consider going back. Right now, with s60 v5 crap loaded, this is just not an option. Seeing the interface makes me laugh.

I can answer that, not for the time being the "Satio" uses S60v5 and that is NOT supported by TomTom or Wayfinder it is possible that Wayfinder "might" I have been told in the future, but forget TomTom it wont happen they wont port the SW to S60v5 not sure why, but I have been informed by TomTom they wont maybe because all the Nokia S60v5 devices come with maps pre instaled for free? As for S60v5 it is OK not as good as UIQ3 but then blew that one themselves.

IF by finger gestures means you can slide through the photo gallery that is pure S60v5 NOT ,
So far the "Satio" looks like not much more than my 5800XM (A great cheap device) BUT in a no doubt very expensive case with a 12MP Camera, TV out a web kit browser!!!!! not even a cheap plastic stylus built in AND WE STILL have to buy a propitiatory adapter to use our decent headsets (THAT is Cheap very Cheap)Woo Whoo cutting edge AND STILL not ready yet!!!!! A non reflective screen coating like to Toco Ultra would have been nice and practical, No wonder are being forced to cut back their range, why try to compete with people who whip your butt all the time! I hope all my fellow users have deep pockets this latest announcement can only mean they are going "PREMIUM" or bust.

In the meantime I will continue to watch with great interest, all the while enjoying using my available now, cheap & nasty 5800 with my Senheisers minus any plastic that gets weak adapter.

Really? Ok ... Find me another device that uses OMAP 3430 that you're willing to use on GSM ....

Omnia HD/i8910
PalmPre - oh sorry that is exclusive in the USA on CDMA = stupid Palm; keep loosing money.
N95 - all iterations
Samsung i7710
Samsung i8510 INNOV8.
Any others??!!

And if you're wondering the performance ...

Great PowerVR SGX 2D/3D GPU from Imagination Technology incorporated into even greater Texas Instrument's (TI) OMAP 3 together wiht the fully programmable VGP vertex processor core, FPU (floating point unit) and Superscalar 600-800Mhz ARM Cortex-A8 RISC core [this technology is capable of up to 1Ghz ppl] giving it at least 3 times better graphic performance over the convential ARM11 cpu's that Nokia uses in their touch devices (currently 5800XM & N97).

To give you an idea of the application performance of the ARM11 ask anyone that has used many S60 devices and then used the E71 ... they'll tell you menu's are considerably faster and applications run in tandem (even background) flawlessly and considerably faster than most S60 devices. THe N85 also uses the same ARM11 369Mhz cpu from Freescale. But audio/video encoding/decoding performance is not as good as the N95. N85 does just fine for games though.

If you loved the Pre's transitionaly videos or have seen what Kastor UI's can do (you've already tasted a hint with SE's design of that in the pre-release videos; smooth no!!?) then your ready for a real Touch-Smartphone.

And this ridiculous nothing that UIQ is superior to S60 3rd or 5th edition is JUST preference. There is a REASON it died! It has nothing to do with SE's development nor with Motorola's push in using it - but I'll bet its a part of it. Its because there were TOO FEW manufacturers making TOO FEW devices with UIQ; this leads to less products - or applications being sold for it - and halts its development! This is the reason why UIQ died and I'll bet it wasn't worth it to small developers or "indy" developers (those students doing it for class projects or for themeselves and sharing it for free) was having difficulty doing so. Sure the menu structure may have been familiar to you more than myself but I don't see ANY benefit UIQ has over S60 5th Edition ... nothing.

Having used UIQ3 for some time AND having used S60v5 since February I have to say I disagree with your observation that UIQ3 is only better by preference.

BTW OMAP 3430 is ONLY any good if you how to work with it it, and given 's record for producing poorly written processor management sw, operating system and GUI's, I would not bet too much of your hard earned cash on it being a great installation on "Satio"!

I've already told you that when SATIO will be released it won't be the leader in megapixel.... (someone critisized me for that....)

Yeah.....but it's a Samsung. I personally detest their UI. SE is much, much better (A200 that is). SE's take on Symbian S60 v5 or Symbian Foundation or whatever looks pretty nice from the pictures/videos, too.

IF apply their usual appalling delay between announcement and release it wont be the leader in anything.

@TJMonkey15
I used to be a totally only customer but they kept letting me down with expensive poorly built kit appalling buggy incomplete SW so I started looking elsewhere.

I currently use a W960 for business (IMHO the best symbian phone ever managed to get out the door and unfortunately the last of the line) and a Nokia 5800 XM which is a superb bit of kit cheap and nasty some say I say "it does exactly what it says on the tin" I can only find two small faults 1. No bookmark in the music player 2. No sleep timer in the music player (Strange things to miss out on a music phone but not life threatening!) not bad for a phone you can buy SIM free for less that £200!

I have to say I think the Samsung products take a lot of beating in innovation quality price and interface, they remind me of Ericsson in the old days!

PS: From what I have seen of the interface to be used on Satio, it is pure S60v5 same as my Nokia so I don't understand trying to claim any credit for it! but Satio certainly does not offer me anything substantial enough to invest any of my hard earned cash in one, I rather feel it is becoming the X1 fiasco again, too much hype about a rather out of date (By the time it arrives) product if people really want a class camera go buy one not a phone!
