Xda forum has a beta of gingerbread 2.3.2. General consensus seems to be that the web browsers much better and its fast. Loadsa moaning, even tho it is a beta. Lol. There ya go.

I recommend that you use either Super Optimized Kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811660 or the Voodoo you get with this ROM. Just install Darkyrom manager from marker and set it up as you like and then just install using cwm.

Not sure what phone you are using jj03...
I have used it stock... I get lag...
