Sony going back to their old ways of announcing devices at shows and then introducing them months and months later
press release here

Not sure if I'd call it midrange, that being said, not that impressed.
23 MP , 1/2.3'' Exmor™ RS for mobile sensor, Quick launch
On the inside
Google Android™ M, Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 820 Processor, 64-bit-capable

So the number 6 in the teaser was actually the selling month???
It takes them almost 4 months to get the device to the market.....
There goes my hope for a new flagship in in the 1st haft of this year

@ascariss
They didn't stop doing this, but not for flagships... I remember having some low/mid rangers with such long time to launch...
Xperia X Performance, while it is high-end, it's not the flagship... maybe Sony didn't want to stay in the harbor while 820 ships are sailing

I was referring to the rest of their products, the break between announcements and availability went down a lot from the older days but seems the trend is coming back.
I agree not a flagship, but makes you wonder what Sony can stick into the next flagship to differentiate it much.

An ultra HD display for starters would do them some good for the Z6.

Xperia X Performance with XA dimensions would be a perfect phone.
