I also keep it in mind, I sometimes just let it run fully empty and then recharge .. it works longer for me then

Hi, with my w300i i listen to music for about 2 hours a day and about thirty minutes out of those 2 hours im surfing with opera. I don't make many calls, i'd say just about 3 minutes in total throught out the day. I start my day at 7:30 am and the phone dies at about 8 pm. So my phone battery dies after 12 and half hours with only about 2 hours of heavy usage. Is something wrong with my battery? I recharge it every night. I would think my battery would at least be at about 25 percent by 9 pm.

Am I doing something wrong? Is discharging daily bad for the battery? Shouldn't I be getting a lot more life? I've only begun this routine about 2 weeks ago. Is it possible I already screwed my battery. Should I get a new one? Or is this just normal for a w300i, (Same battery as k800)

It's the half hour browsing the net that causes the excess power useage. I can tell you from K750 and K700 experience, this is entirely normal. Half an hour of internet SUCKS battery big time!

The walkman is not a huge issue, it uses relatively little power compared to any kind of wireless connectivity (gprs, bluetooth)

So overall, should my new Li-ion (bst-33) battery be fully drained and charged for 12 + hours afterwards about 2 or 3 times?

you can care for your battery by not overcharging it all the time...

no that only applies to nicad and nimh batts. Lithium batteries don't trickle charge - so even though it is plugged into the charger, if the battery is full the charger won't charge. So there is no chemical activity when the battery is full and plugged, and therfore no heat to cause wear and tear.

i have a one quick question..my p990 supports usb charging.i also attached the charger to the cradle so that i can just let my p990 sit in her throne and juice herself up.but when i turn my laptop on, the charging would be from the traditional charger and usb charging..is that bad?

My phone has seven bars to indicate battery life. I have observed that once the seventh bar is down other bars die down quickly, except, of course, the last one.

e.g. After full charging, if the seventh bar dies after 1 hour talktime, then sixth dies after 40 minutes, fifth after 25 minutes .... the second after 5 minutes, and the last gives about 10 to 15 minutes talktime....
