Well it must be first listed in the device manager to have any chance of working. I'm not sure if you need to get any drivers so that you can install it (although I would assume so) as I haven't used one yet - should be coming today!

Firmware upgrade is free... If you don't need to change your language you don't need to choose language and customization file. It is free for now. Maybe later they will charge it.

SE Online update... The CDA # of customization file is different than in first version of R2AA (this version is R2AA_RE29), so that is why you are not allowed to use SE Update Service... I don't know why. I contacted TS and will let you know when I got the answer...

@yanathin

The T28 is a standard Serial cable, so you will communicate to it through one of your built in COM ports - i.e. COM1 or COM2. It won't require a driver as pretty much all operating systems ever released have built in support for standard RS232 serial ports!

Im not convinced by that because when i was flashing from R2L to R2AA003 previously, it crashed after flashing the firmware file and didnt do the language+customisation. That left me with newer firmware, but some items didnt have labels on them like auto-save to sim etc. I had to then flash again with language+customisation file and it is now fine.

Likei said im now on R2AA003 and i can use the online update fine, it doesnt say im not allowed, it starts downloading firmware, but it gets R2M which would effectivly be a downgrade.
You must be using a customisation from another region and thats why its not working.

Under software info on mine it says:
customisation
CDA102286/16 R2A
cxc 125822 R2AA003
EU_1

Original customisation with O2 branding and R2A041:

CDA 102298/17 R25A
cxc 125822 R1A
EU_2
(IMEI ended with.... -01)

Customisation after flash to R2L001 (still O2 branded):

CDA 102298/17 R25A
cxc 125822 R2L001
EU_2
(IMEI ended with.... -05)

After flashing yesterday with total server 1.30 using R2AA003_ZONE 1 firmware and EU_1 language my customisation now looks like this:

CDA 102286/0 R2A
cxc 125822 1E0W
EU_1
(IMEI now ends with.... -09)

Actual IMEI hasn't changed (I know that's illegal in UK), just the two numbers tagged on the end afterwards.

Cheers,

Col.

@ iamcrunchie

Hi,

When did you do firmware update? Actually with which version of TS?

First version of R2AA on TS was the one that had CDA number CDA102286/16.

Second version of R2AA_RE29 is the one that is avaliable now and has CDA number CDA 102286/0

So that is the problem7difference in why you can use SE US and the rest of us that has the other CDA number can not.

@ dr_sy

I purchased mine from fonefunshop.co.uk and the delivery was pretty quick. Cost me £12.50 in total for the cable by itself.

@Vee

I originally debranded from vodafone to R2L using version 1.21 of multiserver.

process i did was flash k700 debrand file, dont turn on, then flash all three R2L files.(Was able to use online update then as well)

Then yesterday i used version 1.30 and downloaded R2AA yesterday, then flashed all three again and that is what i have now and lets me use online update should i need to.
