Hi I'm needing a little help please.

I was having the problem with my arc saying the memory was full in error which seems to be a common problem resolved by flashing the phone. Hoped ics update might fix it to save me a job but as my si is 1247-0232 I'm still waiting (that's another moan!).

I flashed my arc and reinstalled my back ups. and everything is fine except that I have one contact (my best friend Trish) that for some reason is not recognised correctly. When I receive a text from her the text is shown as coming from both Trish and my mum. If I reply to Trish my text goes to mum as well. The only way I can text trish is to start a new conversation each time rather than a simple reply. Texts from my mum are normal (well normal is subjective with my mum but you get my drift)

I don't have any groups on my phone though I have often text mum and Trish the same message. I have deleted both contacts and reinstalled them. Deleted them again and added them manually. When they were deleted it would do the same thing just without recognising who the numbers belong to.

I use Handcent but I have deleted that and tried just using the stock messager and it made no difference. I suspect I will need to reflash the phone but it's a bit of a pain and if anyone can help to save me the hassle I'd be very grateful.

Thank you

I woundnt bother putting ICS on an Arc or Arc S.

You will end up with a phone thats slow that also suffers from software freezes & also software crashes.

Arc & Arc S just aint powerful enough or have enough memory to run ICS correctly, stick with Gingerbread.

Just rolled my Arc S back to Gingerbread & its wonderful, a phones thats fast again & doesnt repeatedly lock up or crash anymore

Friend of mine with a Arc suffered the same issues on ICS & also rolled back to Gingerbread.

Ive no idea why Sony even bothered to release ICS for the Arc / Arc S as its obvious that didnt really test it much

ICS looks nice but the Arc / Arc S just isnt up to running it.

Has anyone got a link for UK gingerbread for LT15 so I can downgrade ICS? Main issue for me is battery time.

Yeah, hope this update will fix all the existing issues with this current version of ICS 4.0.4 and deal with all sorts of lag throughout the UI. Pls SONY, don't disapiont again.

The image below may be considered disturbing so please view with caution.

A friend of mine had dropped her arc from a few floors above a concrete ground and this is the end result.
Now, luckily it's fixed with a new display and it's just as good as the new one.

I got the latest update of the firmware. Had it for a few weeks now and have had no issues since. No freezes or restarts.
Shame O2 is not endorsing it for their arc users. Ah well, there's always the flashtool.
