I had a very tiring night duty...worked from 10am last month till 5.30am this month
then slept for 3hrs
@karan,the steps.
1.Recharge ur phone batteries.Some say,its better to switch off usb charging(i found no problem when usb charging with updating).You can also charge ur phone while updating...its a long process.
2.And back up all ur phone data with ur pc via sync using PC suite.
For Updating...
Connect with ur internet service provider.
Open Update Service.
select language and choose the port type.
Now connect the desk base to ur usb cable and the other end to the pc.
Switrch off ur mobile and remove the sim card and replace the battery.
Now dont switch on the phone...press "C" and while still pressing it down,place ur phone on the deck to connect ur phone with ur pc via usb.

Edit:Agile messenger works perfect for P990...i use it often to chat with my family and friends.

yea man i read that... but the problem im facing is that the software doesnt detect my phone during the "c" button process...

Ok..i got the same "detection failed" first time(maybe coz i released the c button early)...i tried again...this time,i kept pressing the c button while attaching the phone to the usb...released it only after it asked to do so.it worked and it identified my phone correctly.
now i cancelled the update coz i read and heard that this update is not as good as the last one...and has some bugs.

Umm.... don't screw up in this company...i doubt if there would be second chances... I'm not sure how the Chennai & Cochin centres work....but thats the way it is in Mumbai....on the other hand, there would be a lot of value you can add to your profile, lots to learn on the operational end....all the best, though
