The curvature thing really works. It makes the N900 feel like
a cereal box.

Right, I was meant to get my X10 on wednesdy but got it on thursday (today). Anyways first impression is this fone is beautiful . Trust me when i say that wen i went to my local carphone warehouse and looked at the dummy model they had on display i was disappointed with the size, shape and depth of the fone. Also the material used on the dummy model was rubbish. But as i hesitatingly slipped the phone from its plastic wrapping and held in my hand i was astonished. I thought they gave me the wrong x10. This was not like that dummy in the shop. This felt QUALITY. Perfect in the cusp of my hand. The front of the fone just looks expensive much better than any pictures ive seen of it on the web or poster or wherever. The pictures do this fone no justice . the back feels a little plasticky but really its a non issue. Looks wise this fone is probably best touchscreen ive seen in flesh (Ive not seen the Desire or Legend yet so when ive had play with them ill adjust that statement but at the mo my statement stands). Now i pressed the power on button on the fone and waited breathlessy for the fone to turn on and see the quality of the screen. As the X10 showed the logo and booted into the home screen i was delighted. All those stories of the x10 having an inferior screen to the HTC Desire were quickly forgotten. The screen exudes quality. Today (Thursday) was a sunny day so i thought i take the fone out for quick check on screen legibility under the good old sunlight and all i can say is that it works without a fault. I could see every thing on screen and no need to cover the screen with my hand .

Anyways ill do some more testing over the weekend to see if this fone is woth keeping.

Oh yes i got this fone on orange and sadly no extra screen protector and mw600 bluetooth headset in the box. But the silver lining is no more orange branding on phone or in the phone operating system. Also fone came in original Xperia box not orange one. Anyone got any questions about this fone ask, and ill try my best to answer them. For now though back to testing the fone

Peace

Here's an XDA Developers app for Android. You can easily follow your X10 forum or whatever you like:

On the phonebook page, does anyone else have "My number: SIM card unavailable" at the top? If I click on it it brings up my profile (and number) in a separate page but I can't understand why it says that.

I have the same thing happening on mine as well. Not a problem but just wish it wasn't there.

Mediascape updating the album covers via wifi works great, videos looks amazing on the phone. I really love the way contact photos are displayed on the phone. It looks so good. Bluetooth file transfer works great as well. I'm still getting used to the dialer as that seems the only way to access contact info apart from creating a shortcut on the homescreen. But if you do that, the contact info screen looks different from the SE blue one, which I like. I find myself pressing a lot more buttons if I need to call someone in a hurry...

I really wish there was an equalizer on this, all my previous SE phones had something. But the sound is still great through headphones. One thing I have noticed, not sure if anyone else has the same problem, is the ring volume is not as loud as I would have liked but maybe thats just when i'm in a noisy environment. Will need to get used to it.

Also, it doesn't look like there is a way to send contacts via sms. Seems like u have to go into a contact and copy information one by one. Or am i missing something in android?

Just wondering, what programs are people using for task manager? I tried Advanced Task Killer but that seems to turn off all my alarms as well so don't want to use that no more. Any battery saving programs people can recommend?

Overall, I am really happy with this phone, I can honestly say its the best phone I've owned coming from HTC before. Would happily recommend it to anyone.
