My Unbranded uk K850 (037) that ive had no problems with has an update avaliable, just about to back-up phone and give it a bash.

The update just finished. It is an improvement, but not as much as you would have expected after such a long time.
It does improve the overall speed of the phone, especially when using the media player. But the phone is still sluggish when the media player is running in the background, only slighly less than the previous FW.
I had 037 before, so im just looking at the improvements over that firmware.
Improvements:
- Phone is faster
- Media Player is alot faster!
- Equalizer bug fixed
- New animations browsing the photo album
- Key Response option
Negative:
- Still not as fast as the K800
- Still sluggish when media player is running in the background.
- DS970/980 bugs still exist
- There are no new icons, no new themes, no new games, no face recognition, whatsoever.

That's disappointing, but not unexpected. I just don't believe in SE with this phone, which is why I got rid of mine yesterday.

when you say backup the phone,what do you actually do, my pics and stuff are on the memory card when i eventually update do i need to backupcontacts whcih are in the phone memory?
