They will not drop the price now..They know there is a huge demand out there..They will only drop the price if they have difficulty getting rid of the stock. This will hardly be the case with P990 though..
And if they do dropthe price eventually it will only be by a few pounds.
Bigger price drops will only take place September / October.
If people want the phone now they will have to pay huge money to get it..

By the way, a friend from Sweden told me that the phone is now completely sold out.
Can our Swedish friends confirm this?
Some stock will arrive in Denmark tomorrow but this is also sold out. Price range Euros 800,00. So it seems that the phone is expensive everywhere at the moment, sim free..

No P990s for the next two weeks after this initial batch would mean Expansys don't need to reduce prices - assuming the information about SE's marketing plan is correct. Get them while you can

The fact that all Sony Ericsson marketing people are on their August Hols, helps keep the prices up at astronomical levels..
I fellthe price will be in the range of Euros 650 - 700 in Sept (Pounds 430 - 470). But who can wait till then?
What is 100 pounds more anyway...
Ironically speaking of course..

I was just wondering can you use a normal 2G sim in the P990i or will i have to get a new 3G one and transfer my number over.
Also if i did transfer it over to a 3G sim would i still be able to use it in a 2G phone, thanks.
im surprised your asking that.
a 2G sim will work fine in the P990. you just wont be able to make video calls and other 3g services(obviously)
You definately can make 3G video call with a 2G sim. I even made a
video call with a 16k sim.

I think that depends which network you are on. Orange UK, for example, don't let you do that. You must have a 3G SIM and 3G enabled on your account to do anything 3G.
