@shuak: ASUS if you plan on overclocking and gaming otherwise go for either MSI or GIGABYTE.

iam a casual gamer never done a multi player or online gaming bassically want a CPU which can stand easily for 2 years.

iam thinking of getting these

Asus P5Q or P5QC (mera dil P5QC par hai coz it has dual RAM i.e ddr2 and ddr3 support)

RAM 2GB ddr2 crosair xmx2 or Kingston's HyperX

Graphic card 9500GT

may be a 1TB HDD

baqi sab to hai.

and all of them excluding HDD will cost me like 40,000 RS

@shuak: how about this setup:

Motherboard: Asus P5Q (dont get the hybrid DDR2-DDR3 one. you won't get the best of either worlds if you do and the current pice tag of DDR3 ram doesn't justify it's performance gains over DDR2) - Rs. 11300

RAM: Corsair XMS2 DHX TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX (2GB) - Rs. 3800

Graphic Card: nVidia 9600GT (it costs only around 2K-3K more than the 9500GT, it has a better price:performace ratio and it'll let you play games with most of the eye candy turned on ) - Rs. 11000

HDD: Western Digital 500GB 7200rpm with 16MB cache (WD5000AAKS)
dont buy a 1TB disk. its better to buy 2 500GB ones. not only will they cost less but in case of a hard disk crash you dont end up with a big loss. Buy a 500GB one now and then buy another one later ) - Rs. 6200

Total: Rs. 32,300 (Can be reduced a little if you shop around a little. For example the 9600GT retails for prices b/w 10K-12K and you might get a discount if buy all these items from the same shop )

By the way, which processor do you currently have?

yeah forgot to mention i am also considering about intel's e8400 or should i go quad core q6600, keeping in mind only gaming is not my concern i need a multi tasking machine which can also play games on decent speeds.

currently i have an age old setup

intel 865G motherboard with 478 socket.
Pentuim 4 HT 3 gHz
1GB ddr ram
250+80 GB sata
Sony DVD RW

i had a Nvidia card which can play prince of persia 2 thrones at decent speed but without turning on any thing it even didnot had 1.0 Pixel shader.

so thats why iam upto an upgrade most of the setup will come from Australia my brother is coming in December on Eid so he will bring Motherboard+ Processor+ RAM from there and i only have to do the selection and tell him about it. they have some nice prices there

http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf

dont know why instead of decreasing prices they usualy increase? on that site P5qc was available for 165$ and now it is 185$ in just a week!

BTW from where did u quot the prices?
