Mobile phone users across the UK should start to see big savings from next month.
A High Court judge has thrown out an attempt by phone companies to block cheaper calls.
And he rubbed salt into their wounds by delivering part of his judgment in 'text-talk'.
Mr Justice Moses showed he is moving with the times when he said "thnx" to the lawyers who had appeared before him.
He wrote: "To them I hope it is not inappropriate 2 xpress thnx 4 all thr gr8 wrk."
The mobile phone companies had been fighting the industry regulator's plan to cut costs and save callers millions of pounds.
Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile challenged the Competition Commission's decision in January to reduce the charge for calling a handset by nearly 50% over the next three years.
During a recent five-day hearing they claimed they would be put in a "financial straitjacket"
But Mr Justice Moses, sitting in London, ruled the commission and the Director General of Telecommunications had adopted "a reasonable and justifiable approach".
The legal row centred on "termination charges" or the price mobile operators charge each other and BT for putting callers from rival networks through to their customers.
The commission accused the companies of overcharging.
It is estimated that mobile phone callers could see up to £190m a year in savings over the next three years as a result of the cuts.
The first cut of 15% in termination charges is due in July.
The fourth mobile giant, MmO2, was not a party to the application for judicial review
A spokeswoman for the National Consumer Council said it welcomed the decision.
"It is high time termination charges were slashed," she said. "To see the mobile phone operators finally nailed is good news for consumers.
"The operators have dragged their feet and a real cut in termination charges is long overdue."

all that means is that tarriffs will get more expensive and handsets will not be as highly subsidised now which is a pain in the ass
