So I originally got a K750i, it is flashed to become a W800i with firmware R1K, and for future reference, I can't update my W800i?

No you cannot because your IMEI already says your phones a K750. So every time you wanna update you gotta pay and use davinci. Ive got the same problem:( But its worth having W800 firmware i think.

im pretty sure i saw one of the davinci developers say on their forums that currently SEUS does not check emei
also, its not possible to flash brown to red with davinci , unless you have a cruiser cable

Yes, but I cannot look in future, if SE decides to ban on IMEI number, it will not work anymore ofcource!

That is what is apparent from the post. But i still believe that no matter what firmware you have red or brown (mines brown) they check your IMEI and there is no way escaping the fact that your phone was once a K750 and still is to SEUS. I hope though that i am wrong, but im just trying to inform others of what i have found.

You are right, however SEUS is software, it has dll files. If we find the call to get imei number then we can jump straight over it. Anyone up for patching seus?
