Too many extras means more stuff to break, so what if its an ageing code, it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Meth, that is not true, my view topic script is smaller than any other forums but has everything that the new phpbb has. Smart code is harder to break even with lots of stuff than stupid small code.

A poll feature is a good idea, as is a 'Sent' folder for private messages. Mind you these are more features rather than design elements so they would probably be better discussed in the Bugs and Features thread.
I don't think Esato really needs much in the way of its design changed, perhaps a wee splash of colour might be nice, but it is fine the way it is really. The one thing I would say should be changed is ... (yes you've guessed it) ... the awful looking ads in the middle of posts!

I personally like it how it is, I don't like other forums, simply because the clours and sigs are so overwhelming you can't find the information you want because your overwhelmed by stupid blends, and other horrific things.
It makes it overall a much better experience, if you want something that is annoying and bright, then go to SE-NSE, (sorry V12).
Anyway, that just my opinion, but I;m sure other people much prefer bright, and repulsive forums....
I can't stand joining other forums, I do, but they are simply sooo frustrating, like trying to edit a post, how complicated do you want it to be?!?!?!

With the posting style, I manage to visit Vanquish'es and DJ Creamz' sites and they were so elementary to understand, just click on the colors, fonts, size etc. and pronto - it's done! Here . . . like in the case of the smileys, you are obliged to type in the words in order to make the smiley appear, also, I am a very 'crayola' type of guy, and at times I wanted to post my text in the Roy G. Biv appearance, but I just don't know how
Vanquish'es and Creamz' are like those of -Yahoo's and Hotmail's, very easy to understand!

As much as I would like to see features such as personal avatars, poll questions, etc my breath isn't being held. These have been asked for before and nothing has happened and I don't suppose much will happen this time either.
The colour scheme is generally fine, perhaps a wee splash of colour here and there just to excite the eyes, but nothing too drastic.
I actually considered Esato to be one of the best looking forums for its simplicity until those ghastly ads were stuck in the middle of threads. They completely ruin the look in my opinion, it's looking more and more like HoFo. Adverts may very well be necessary, but anymore and we might as well have them in our sigantures too!
Out of intereest, was there a reason given for the new adverts? Are the old ones not generating enough money? If so can't they be gotten rid of at least?
