i have this firmware as well n my w800i.

and gotta tell you only had problems with it untill now.

1) camera quality has gotten worse. with the old software i could make pictures without using the night mode when there was less light. now if i try this i get cheap pictures that look like are made by a cheap webcam. although this problem goes away if i use the night mode, it gives a lag on my screen using nightmode. so actually the camera has gotten less sensitive to light and i have to use night mode earlier.

2) the mega bass option has been totally screwed. i can't hear the difference between the drums and the basses. really shitty. it worked really good with the old firmware.

3) i hear this weird sound, it's not very loud, and very hard to hear. but you can hear it if you pause a song. or listen to the beginning of a song. you hear a sound like there is wind coming through some hole.

4) i don't see the thumbnails of some pictures in the 'camera pictures' directory, they are just black. i can see them in all other directories i have made on my memorystick.

that's what i have come across untill now. lets see what more i see. gotta tell you i don't understand SE policies. i mean why the hell mess with things that were working correctly.

"good" to hear that others have the sam problems!
Let´s see what SE says when i call them tomorrow! I´m going to tell them to fix it or give me a new phone with the old working firmware!
And i also can tell them that people all over the world is really pissed off at them!
This is an warranty issue and to me clearly is a "warranty fault/defect".

I have also udated to R1NA005, but still got this problem:

1) It becomes very hard to get to service menu. I have to try many times to get to this menu even I press >*
2) Disc2Phone still can't save MP3 on memory stick.
and gotta tell you only had problems with it untill now.

3) I still don't know with the camera quality cus not yet compated it.

4) Yes, the equalizer has been totally screwed! I can hear weird sound/noisy in manual setting.

5) Got problem in some video files.

6) Have no problem with the thumbnails of some pictures in the 'camera pictures' directory, so far.

7) Still annoying for me since the first firmware: Message delivery report notification doesn't disappear after a few seconds like on previous SE before K750.

This make me confuse: Even the software is R1NA005, the CDA is still for R1N035 (?) (CDA: 102430/101 R3A cxc 1250093 R1N035 APAC_1)

Anyone have similar or other problems?

indeed, i'm glad as well that you have the same problems, i thought i was the only one.
but let me know what SE tells you.
anybody here has the email for SE support, i can't seem to find one. i mean if we have that we can massively mail them about our problems, not spamming or something but just everyone explaining there problems to SE. might get them to work out problems faster.
cos i can just see it coming that after the release of the w900 we w800 users are justing gonna get stucked with some freaky firmware just not working right.

don't understand these guys, they made a fantastic phone, but just screw up in the firmware part. i mean if they would do it right once just have one good firmware. than we wouldn't really need anymore updates, and it would give them a lot of happy users which are potential customers for their next walkman phone. but if they continue like this i ain't buying a se very easily again.
let's hope they make some awesome software soon so everybody is amazed by these guys

edit: by the way i have also noticed that sometimes when i use bluetooth and it's turned on (like when i use the remote or send something to someone) it stays on after i have stopped sending or using the remote. i have to go into the menu and disable it manullay. in the last firmware bluetooth was turned off automatically after you quit using the service

UPDATE FROM FULLFORCE REGARDING FIRMWARE AND THE POSSIBILITY TO GET SE TO FIX IT VIA WARRANTY:

I have now spoken to SE call centre in Sweden and they HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD ABOUT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FIRMWARE!! I told them to check out forums such as esato and others and see that many people over the globe is pissed off at the crappy firmaware and how SE is handeling these issues. They don´t know when a new firmware will be out (i wonder if they know where they live and how to tie their own shoes) They only said that they will tru to fix it if i return my phone. I told them that the only way to fixi it is to make a new (better?) firmware or take a new completely unflashed phone and flash it with the old firmware.

I also called the service centre, wich the call centre said wasn´t certified wich they are!!!, and told them the same thing. I also told them that i don´t want to turn my phone in and they just sit on it waiting for the new firmware and put that in the phone and then return it to me.
I wonder how and if they think and plan ahead at all in some departments of SE. I would like to be able to endorse SE because i´m from Sweden and 50% of SE is a swedish company...but i can´t do that at this time!

Now i´m going to SE service centre in a atempt to flash it back to the old firmware. Yes i know that most say that you cant´do that. And if that doesn´t work i will go back tomorrow when the person in charge of the service centre comes back from his vacation. So i probably will turn it in for a warranty repair tomorrow.....sigh.

I´m not giving in until they fix it! And i´m satisfied if they just put back the old firmware.

i´ve been to the service centre and they couldn´t even find any software at all in my phone when they tried to put in the old firmware.

So are going to send the phone to "repair" it. I told them that i hope for/want them to take a unflashed phone and flash it with the old firmware and return it to me, since they can´t put old firmware in my phone. Also said thet i really hope they won´t sit on it and just wait for the new firmware.

Well...lets see what happens..

Don´t know. Maybe the developers don´t know themselves hehe
But there maybe there are somebody here with better insight in SE that can confirm this?
