The risk of WW3 is just too great.

The North Korea issue was very worrying for me. They actually fired a missile over the Sea of Japan- which could have contained a warhead. Just one bomb on a Japanese city would send stock-markets crashing around the world.

The US is using a diplomatic approach and multi-lateral dialogue to engage North Korea but I don't think it will use the same approach with the Taiwan issue.

Anyway, it is predicted that a lack of fresh water and natural resources will be the cause of many wars this century.

Who said that world war 3 is a remote possibility??? It is infact, GOING ON.

Who is waging this war?? The US.

Against whom? Most of the world.

How?
Diplomatically. The us through many organisations, which are just namesake, like OPEC, WTA, the us is trying to maintain its unchallenged control over the world. For eg. the oil producing nations (read the gulf) have a constraint on the amount of oil they can produce. Who puts this? Opec (read The USA). They do this in a way that suits them the most. Similarly through another dummy organisation, the wta, the us has been exercising control on world trade.

So who says that everything is at peace. Underneath the cold exterior, matters arent that cold. Like a slow growing virus, the us is trying to establish world domination. Aint that war ??

Nail right on the head Bluequill.

Economic imperialism. And they resort to using military forces to ensure their economic survival when they can't get their own way through diplomacy and competitive trading.

The sooner the US realises it's own national security doesn't rely on it's ability to manipulate the world so that they stay on top economically, the sooner the world can get on with free trade and free commerce. The US the biggest arguer for free trade when it pertains to other nations, but not when it comes to their own affairs.

If they can't compete on a level playing field, then they should get out of the damn game.

i believe that, given there are so many planets out there, the infinitely vast number of them unknown to us, there has to be life in an intelligent form on at least one of them. I firmly feel that a benign Creator would have allowed life to flourish somewhere other than our galaxy, and that it's only a matter of time before known and verifiable contact between them and us is made.

I believe that there must be intelligent life somewhere in the rest of the universe. But, that they exist only in another time zone. They are thousands of light years behind us. When the earth is destroyed, life will start evolving in that planet just as it did it on earth.

I believe it's the other way. Like the Star Wars scenario, hundreds of thousands of years ago a civilisation fought it out, a huge battle between "good" and "evil", one side trying to control everything and everyone to prevent bad things happening. Aka Anakin turning to the dark side to try and save padme and his turning into Darth Vader who actually thought he was doing a good thing by trying to control the galaxy to eventually, through control of the force and removal of freewill of beings, prevent death. The other side believing that free choice of all beings was the answer to a safe and happy future.

This war resulted in clones (zeta reticuli - google it) and a hybrid race created on earth a mix of both the "dark" side and the "good" sides of the warring races. The purpose of this hybrid race was to bring the "force" into balance.

Maybe....
