That is what they told me today....You are right... Mine does not say T68m but if you remove the battery and read the label on the phone it says T68m with R1B ( Now upgraded to R2A) and Hardware R1A

M has nothing to do with MMS! What ericsson centres says have nothing to do with the truth! T39? No M? TRIBAND!

I think ericsson have made a mistake as you cant have T68 on box/front and T68m on back of phone! It doesnt make sense at all!

I much prefer it saying T68 - looks cleaner

Maybe the T68m is the factory name for the T68 - whereas T68 is what the consumer market are said to know the phone by!

Like nokia phones and motorola phones have different names on the phone and under it!

The T39m has no MMS! But i think that m stands for triband. But if the phone has its software as intended it is called T68m!

Some people are right here. I remember my T39 bought in june was called T39 on the box and flip! Now its called T39m! But im aware of no additional features for the T39 from release but perhaps the FW has become better in some ways so it is an upgraded model from T39>T39m!

The orange T68 is has an m! But i dont think it has MMS! Does anyone know? We havent had any T68s in our branch yet as orange direct/retail have had 6,000 distributed to them since jan!

This should be very easy to understand :

When Ericsson calls a phone M, it simply means its TRIBAND.
Its THAT simple, nothing to it.

It has NOTHING to do with mms or anything else.
And ALL Ericsson T-68's are triband, as well as the T-39, R-520.

I had the T-39 as well, and its real name was : T39M.

Whether its called M or not on either box, phone or behind battery,..doesnt really matter. does it. Because they are all M-models.

The only difference is that the new T-68's probably will be called Sonyericsson T-68, instead of ericsson T-68.

Dear Ben,..don't shout

Listen up,..you're saying that a phone will only be called M, if its the "final" software version ?

How will they know when its the final version ? They keep updating software all the time.

Then explain this : why is the T-68 called M.
My T-68 says M on the back (behind battery).
Ericsson KNEW that this particular phone wouldnt have the final software in the beginning. So why call it M ?

And do you believe, that the mms-upgrade will be the last upgrade for the T-68 ??

And all our phones are called M, whether its a T-39, T-68 or R-520.

R2B is the FULL FW...version

Afterwards there are going to be only bug fixes and not extra features... They new that R2B is the final FW because it has all the features R1A has.....They sold T68 with R1B and not R1A removing most of the features to make them better and to let providers upgrade their systems for MMS support.

Dear JH,

My T39 when bought in june was called T39 all over!!! Not T39m! The M means triband but has to have ericsson final FW specs! Now the T39 is called T39M! The t68 will also be called T68m once mms is included!

Ben >

T-68 is called M now. Look on the back of your phone, behind the battery.
