the only negative thing is the slider solution for me.

I agree with BobaFett about that. Also it is a bit too heavy and the battery is too weak.

In my opinion the most interesting feature of Nokia 80 is the five-band capability: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 + UMTS (WCDMA). One world, one phone. It's very important for travellers and businessmen.

The only other five-band phone in the world is Nokia E61 (as far as I
know). When will Sony Ericsson make a first five-band phone...?

I've gone from the P910i to the O2 XDA Exec, even if SE release the 990 in March it's not going to be distributed by the networks till june/July, can't fault the XDA so far either

Some of the things that attracted me to the N80:
1. HTML browser- can't deal with a regular wap browser after owning a P910a.
2. 3G- As soon as that gets up and running that should be cool.
3. Sliding form factor- I actually like this type of phone. So compact and clean looking.

The browser obviously won't be as usable as the P910a's with it's touch screen, but it's was really too slow to be usable anyway. With the N80 I'll at least have EDGE and 3G soon.
Hopefully the N80 will have a better screen under sunlight. That's something that always drove me crazy about the P900 and P910a. Just not very viewable outside.
I had originally planned on getting getting the P990, but it has no 850 and it's just as huge as the P910a with a smaller screen. No thanks.

@getagrip the screen is a bit bigger, not smaller, if its correct:

Boba- The "new" UIQ version is diff'rent. As its with PC proc's'rz.. the software made for older version wont work on 64bit chip.. Quote:

The "each one to their own" makes such topic an intrigue
its form factor VS Network tech VS media/cam VS .. yadi yada yadi
Like the - screen under sun- point, there are many 'soft' points Isn't it

That's referring to pixels not size. It does have a sharper screen, but a little smaller. Overall, I just don't like the design of the P990, especially the back. Looks cheapo. Not real keen on the qwerty keyboard either. I do like the autofocus on the camera though. Can't understand why they wouldn't put that in the N80.

@Boba- haha Now Now wouldn't be an easy.
My story-
I used ("my" phone- thou other ones I used since 98 were of Fam & Friends) the /// T10s & got totally taken by ERICSSON. Bit sensitized now.
My ANSWER- neither
# I have (& use) S700 n P910
# Am a fidgety guy. Dropin fones easy
# T10s AND S7 r the STURDIEST ones for their functions I ever used
# Both av safety of keypad & hell S7 has a covered lens & take it frm me- Scratch proof.
2 put a few

The thing with P91 was part fancy, tryin to use Spreadsheet (but Landscape NO joy), touchscreen (not that crazy 4 it). I'd NOT go for 990 simply coz i got a taste already- it looks BAD wrt 910. Rather see the Qtek 9100 type than Nokia. Frankly, even if 3G comes to us (India) (wil be any time soon) now the costs may be prohibitive! And damn! How many WiFi points, friends with even NORMAL cam fones here?

Yeah comparing these 2 phones is like comparing apples to oranges. It's all about preference. I've had P series phones for over 2 years now and I am ready for something new.
