what features would you like to see on the 8800?
well, a better cam, s60 interface, more internal memory could have been added to the phone, an mms slot would be good.

i'll probably pick up one of these if i ever have the extra money
the simplicity makes it more timeless

yeah, its called the
SeaShell. I've promised to take my wife there soon for our "meeting anniversary" as she loves seafood (unfortunately I don't!)
anyway, back to the 8800. I find it strange that with the phone closed, I can press the power button which gives me a menu with "Switch off", various profiles, lock keypad etc but there is no way to scroll down or choose one of those options! There are two soft keys exposed when the phone is closed but neither does anything! I have to open the phone to scoll and select. weird! all I can do is press and hold the power button to turn off.
its also dissapointing that the radio channels and volume cannot be manipulated without actually going into the radio application. The K750/W800 has much better handling for that. Again, they could have utilised the two exposed soft keys to handle some of that!
I have also not found an adaptor that will let me use my Sony MDR-EX81SL headset with the 8800. Unfortunately the 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor that I use for my k-jam doesn't work in the Nokia. I had read that the 2.5mm socket was not standard, but I didn't believe it until I tried it. I gather this is the same for other Nokias too!?
but, still, I am liking the feel and handling in its role as secondary phone that I will be hanging onto it a bit longer yet...

right, well, I sold my 8800 a while back but recently I was thinking about getting another... and today I did
after one hour I am already wondering why did I do this to myself?
its a real love/hate relationship. The kind you sometimes get when you have a girlfriend that you want to see and then when you're with her, you can't wait to get away, and when you do get away you can't wait to see her again!
perhaps I should have listened to that old addage of once bitten, twice shy?
arrrggghhh!
well, I'll give it a few days I suppose...
can anyone explain this phenomenon? (about the 8800, not women, no one can explain them!)

I think its the primativeness.
You can't even turn the camera on without navigating the menus, although you can set what one function the right soft key performs but I don't always want the camera, often I want the radio.
btw, I now have to buy another stereo headset for listening to the radio as I did last time as it only comes with a single piece headset!
like I said, I'll give it a few days and perhaps just treat it as I do my V3 which is just a smart looking phone with limited function compared to my other phones
